I recently had my Remington 700 re-barreled with a 26” Hart barrel chambered in 243 Winchester with a varmint barrel contour. I added the HS Precision stock, Timney elite hunter trigger and Zeiss VX4 scope.

The load I developed consists of Barnes 80 grain TTSX bullets with 46 grains of H4350 with Lapua brass and CCI BR2 primers chronographed at just over 3500 fps.

Jim Hart and the folks at Hart Barrels did an amazing job and I’m extremely pleased with this rifle. Below is a 5 shot group at 100 yards with the load I developed under 1/2 MOA (the first outside shot was a cold barrel shot). I will be taking this rifle on my planned upcoming deer hunting trip to X9A this year.

On another note: how do you know your getting a x9a tag before the draw ??

Thanks jackman. I appreciate the compliment.

As far as X9A, I’m only assuming I’m going to get drawn for the unit. I expect my 9 points to be enough to get drawn, but I’ll find out for sure later this month when they post the official draw results.

That will definitely take a miracle to get drawn for X12 with 5 points! 🙏

Thanks Oldtool. I'm taking my nephew with me, and this will be his first ever deer hunt. It should be a great time with lots of great memories.

Sounds like you’ve really put some work into building a solid rifle. The combination of the Hart barrel and the Timney trigger sounds like a recipe for precision. I’m sure you’ll do great with that setup in X9A. I’ve been working on my own setup recently, and I had a similar experience with finding the right load to get consistent results. One thing that helped me was getting a good custom load worked up at a local shop—they really dialed it in. If you're ever in the Coon Rapids MN conceal carry area, there’s a solid range that has helped me fine-tune my gear.

Thanks Pelagatti. Unfortunately, I got skunked this year in X9A. I mostly saw a bunch of does and a couple of small spikes.

Nice looking gun, some of those coatings and dips can add a lot to the weapon. this is definitly the case here, simple and straighfoward!
