New borders at Lake Sonoma!

Everyone who likes to hunt at lake Sonoma needs to take a look at the new map of off limit areas. Old skags road to Liberty Glenn is now closed! You thought it was tough to hunt before, just wait to see how hard its gonna get! Good luck out there

Thanks for posting that up W.M...I meant to, but work has been crazy and did not have time.

Rotorhead - when I went to the check in station and got my preview with the Ranger he showed me the map and I pointed out to him that my map and his did not match. He was un-aware of the change and had to ask someone. He came back and told me that they just closed that part down and that it was due to "some problems" they were having.

Gotta love the ambiguity. They said something similar when I asked why the other closed area existed. I am happy to have the opportunity to hunt there, I just wish they would be forthright about why things are as they are.

Well guys, looks like we'll be seeing more of each other as the huntable areas shrink. We'll all be funneled into smaller areas. Good Luck to you all. I probably won't be able to get out there until next Thursday.

I would imagine the issue is some hikers complain about seeing hunters on the liberty Glen trails. Sucks but what can you do. I would imagine this will be the last year for hunting at the Lake.

I was told yesterday that it was due to hunters not respecting the rules and going out of bounds. The particular one was not caught either. The neighbors on that side are no tolerance. All it takes is one compaint, and they shut it down. PLEASE respect the rules if you hunt there. I know most of the guys that post here do.

Careful! As of today, Jan 1, there are some areas within the hunting zone that are posted NO ENTRY due to bald eagle nesting area.
