Dpreview has the new Sigma 200-500 f2.8 on their live feed right now. It comes with a dedicated 2.0x TC as well.

And with the common APS-size sensors, it's field of view actually becomes 1500mm! That thing would be awesome.

With a constant f/2.8 you shouldn't have a problem with a TC. No different than any other lens.

Wimberly must just love it when lenses like this come out. That thing looks like it should be mounted to the front of a tank.

LOL, I wonder what BushHawk will come up with for that monster.

Imagine the Canon 1DMKIII slapped behind that lens... I need to start playing the lotto!

I'd be pretty sure that since the TC was specifically designed for this lens that there wouldn't be any AF problems.

From Photographyreview.com

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>
This thing is truly a monster. What you see here isn't the final version. The lens weighs 28 pounds and the lens shade weighs another 7. Even though Sigma hasn't set a price yet, 9 lenses have already been ordered. The final price is likely to be in the area of $15,000 to $20,000.[/b]
