I waited too long to get my A31, sold out, so I got a A22. Anyone have any advise for deer hunting in A22, Zone D16? I hunted around lake Henshaw for turkey a couple years ago. Saw lots of them just not on legal hunting land.

I'm not asking for a map to your honey hole, just a general area to hunt, camp , dirt roads and such. :newbie:

i dont think your gonna get a lot of responses for this because there are too many hunters in socal and not enough good hunting spots to go around. my advice to you is to look at the map of a22, it has blm public land and dfg land its up to the individual hunter to do your homework and burn up some gas and boot leather. im sorry im not trying to deter you its public land hunting in cali.

ps ive seen a lot of does on mt laguna last spring turkey hunting its archery only so it can be challenging

Well thanks for the reply. I've been hunting so cal for a few years now and I know its not easy. I'm mostly an archery hunter and have seen deer, just not within 50 yards. Anyway, trying something new this year.

You may need to put a stalk on em man! Just look at a map note key water elements and possible travel corridors. Its hard land but if you are willing to go where most are not... your chances are greater. But hey you could also get lucky and not have to do much hiking at all.
