New to Elk hunting

Hay I deer hunt and upland bird hunt but I never Elk hunted before. My dad said we are going next year. but i dont know what to look for. Have any tips? I am 14 and need help.

They are kind of hard to miss. Lot bigger than deer and run in herds. Hold on for some fun but be careful. bigger and a lot more work. Make sure you can break down an animal and have the ability to pack it out before it spoils.

Thanks for that tip. I know I can pack a deerout but how heavy is a elk to a deer?
