hey guys,
I now live in central florida, west of ocala, and as of a few weeks ago i killed a hog litterally standing at my back door, i live on a half acre that is about a half mile away from a hunting lease, and i started putting corn out, and one night i finally cought two big boars standing about 50 yards from my house, about 120-140lbs. I got the trusty .22 mag out and proceded to, accidentally shoot one of them right in the heart(he turned to run right when i pulled the trigger) but somhow he only ran about 75 yards and dropped. The funny thing is it didn't even wake up my neighbors, and it was 12AM. I have since built a trap that has had one hog escape two nights ago. I have, hopefully fixed the trap now, and am just waiting for the next pig to go in. I used to live in south florida, but moved up here a year ago when i turned 17 to live with my dad. I used to go dog hunting down south all the time. I recently visited friends went dog hunting with some cur-pit mixes (good dogs, they can trail, and catch, but they don't hold on like a pit) we caught one 120lb boar. The place we hunt is a park, that we asked the owner if we could hunt, and he said the pigs were getting to be a problem, so we go whenever we want. The biggest pig we've cought out there was about 280, it almost killed one of the dogs. I love pig hunting in florida, But i don't see many others here from florida. I really like your site here, and i should have some more stories to tell soon, hopfully my trap will start working right.
