????? from a newbie ??? Is there a joke I don't know about??? Where a member will offer to help out another member?? Here is what happened.. I got a email that asked if I wanted to go to tejon for my first pig hunt. The email said a price I had to pay and that it was going to b a guest pass. I got real excited as anyone would have. I sent a email back right away and said thank you very much and that I would check with the Lt. Col. I waited a few days and nothing. Than I sent a email that said my dad may b bizzy but is the offer still good for me? Mayb I could even have my hunt buddy go up with me in my dads spot. Again a few days even a week or 2 gone by and no email back. So I sent one more email. #3 said that I hope the member is ok and they must have got bizzy and that I hope they are doing well. No big deal or rush, just wanted to check on you and see if your doing ok.? To this day I never got a email back.? I am new so sorry if I did sumthing wrong. Not sure what it could b and or why sumone would be so mean to me or my dad. Thanks for the help and no big deal I guess. We will get out there and get my first pig sumday. Thanks 4 the info guys. forgot to put that the first email was on 4-14. Sorry if I didn't wait long enough. Not sure how this is supposed to work out.

not sure if there was a hunt. ???? that's what im asking for a little advice on. Still not sure if this was a joke or what. I would think that a email back would not b to much to ask for. Why would u invite sumone to go to Tejon and than never reply to there emails back. I do not think I did anything wrong and I waited a long time to ask for help. again sorry if I did this wrong and im suppost to wait a few mounths for a email back. not sure what to think.. but not a very nice thing to do to a new guy that's just trying to learn and spend time with his dad. The cherry on top is that The Lt. Col is kind of bizzy anyways. So if that ment I could not go at all... well that's just how it would b. But would think I could get sum word back.

thank you. Still not the answer I was looking for... but thank your for the info on the hunt. maybe I shouldn't have even asked about this. Maybe its not something that happens often around here. Glad that others have not had people do this to them. Its a real let down in the end. or seems that way to me at least.

the Lt. Col told me to always stick to my guns.... I am ready to go after pigs on any land anywhere. I now think maybe the email was not for me. They could have been trying to invite someone else and sent it to me my mistake. than also maybe they don't want to tell me about the mix up.. Oh well.. Thanks Cali-carnivore. hit me up sometime even if u just need a buddy to hike with u while u hunt. The best way to learn is to get out there and see it done or do it your self. My goal is to do both and get sum food in the frez for my fam.

KTKT70 i just sent you a pm..... yes guys he is talking about moi!!!! i have no problem owning up to this one.....I must apologize i did offer to take this young buck up to tejon and help him learn the ways of the ranch. I have been super busy and have only had fridays to make it up to the ranch. I am planning on going up next friday as this friday is a POR which is suppose to be record breaking heat>>>>>that sucks, but if you are avail i sent you my direct line and would be more than happy to make this right and get you a pig and show you some beautiful country.
And cali your correct most people dont get out and hunt, yet i do it weekly..... Havent missed a friday all spring except for pig o ramas......

yep, the last 4 pics looks like Tunis Creek at the bottom of the canyon. Pic 4 and 5 looks like a view of Winters Ridge across Tunis Creek from the top of Tunis Ridge. The North and South boundary for POR hunters is at the bottom of that canyon. Those open slopes and fingers coming off Winters Ridge are on the North Side and anyone hunting there would be half mountain goat. I've hunted similar terrain on the South Side in what was called Powerline Canyon. I often have to go down those slopes climbing down and hanging on to brush and tree branches.

live 2 hunt you wld be correct, and i have been called worse...Billygoat??? well im the biggest damn goat u ever seen 260lbs bodybuilder....lol, i have hiked down to a level platue that cant be seen from front, but when u get there its flat and full of hogs....then hiked back up to the top.. last trip i took a newbie up and showed him the ways and i waited at the top at the truck for 30 mins for him......i feel for all those POR guys this weekend, the pigs are deep, and with this heat will be nocturnal for sure...good luck guys. and fyi water holes arent the trick on this ranch, there are small springs and cow troughs everywhere up there.

Yep...agree about those plateau. Hogs would seek refuge in those areas when pressured. There are still plenty of hogs to hunt in terrains with easier recovery. Where I hunt, the hardest parts of the hunt are dropping a hog in its track and lifting it into the truck's tailgate. As of now I will leave those plateau to the hardcore Billygoats......I guess I'm getting too old for those stuff.

I think you need to hunt with me. I take a chair, sit under shades, shoot hog, load in truck, then head back to camp......Does that sounds too easy?......
