Howdy all.

I've noticed that some of these applications for the JHO Ham Slam are coming from members whose names I've seldom or never seen posting. Not that that's a bad thing, of course. You're welcome to lurk.

But let me suggest you come on out and post a little. In May, there'll be about 50 of us camped together, raising Cain and hanging out. It'll be good to know some of you a little better before the event.

What are your best hunts? Post some pics of the hogs you've shot. Let us get to know you.

All right since I am quite new to the forum I will start.
I posted a picture of my most resent boar in the “Where are you from” post
This boar was certainly the biggest boar I have gotten to date.
He was caught at Panchorico Creek Ranch. I got a second sow using my single shot
.223, now I don’t recommend using a .223 for boar hunting but when I shot my 300+
pig the scope on my .300WSM came loose and I was forced to use the single shot .223.
I was very confident in the 223 and hit the sow squarely in the head dropping her like a ton
of bricks.
My other hobbies are racing my 1997 Cobra around at Willow Springs Race track.
Hitting the ½ mile straight away at 130 mph is quite exciting.
I go off-roading most of the time and have been to quite a few off roading events.
Some places I have been are “Rubicon” 5 times. The hammers in Lucerne valley (rated 5+ trails)
And Many poker runs.
I am currently working on getting my associates in “Land/Wildlife Management” at LA Pierce Collage
And hop to get a job being a hunting guide.
To say I am new to farting with strangers around a campfire would be untrue.
But what is true is that I don’t have the smelliest or the loudest farts.
When you get your truck stuck in the mud at “Ham Slam”………you will know I am there

Welcome Tony!

I saw that grey boar in the "Where are you from" thread. MAN that's a hoss!

I'm still waiting to get something besides a plain black pig. A whitewall would be cool, but that big grey sucker would definitely make my day!

Hi Guys! I am new to this sight only in the sense that I have never posted here before. I have enjoyed reading and learning here for a couple of years or so. I have only recently joined as a member. I originally began on the Muley forum, and still check in with it from time to time. The frequency will increase the closer to deer season it gets, I'm sure.
I think I am becoming obsessed with hog hunting. I have yet to actually kill a hog. I have hunted public land a couple of times, and Camp Roberts late last year. I have set a goal of getting a hog before this summer. I live in Bakersfield so Tejon would be very do-able. The only problem would be schedule. I work WAAY too much and have a variety of family commitments that keep me very busy. We only have one free weekend between now and May!

There is a pretty good chance I will be up for the JHO Ham Slam, maybe with a buddy or two. So if everything works out I hope to see you all there. I have a couple of questions off topic so I will start a new thread soon.
This is by far the best hunting oriented sight around. Thanks.
