So - it looks like te mail-in process is viable, as Saki sent me an email yesterday that my approval will be in the mail back to me by the end of this week. A few things of note:

1) When I first mailed the form, I forgot a copy of my DL. I called, and she asked me to scan and email it. No muss, no fuss.
2) They never asked for my SSN, and I never gave it. I only provided what was asked for on the form.
3) I confirmed with her that archery equipment is not included in the registration - only firearms.

UPDATE - I just go an emial stating that I would need to include my SSN, and a SASE as well.

So, if you guys are going the mail-in route, you need to do four things:

1) Fill out the form.
2) Provide your SSN.
3) Provide a copy of your DL.
4) Provide a self addressed stamped envelope.

That's for your hunting registration. For the Firearms registration.they will mail you a approved FT Hunter Liggett Weapon Permit from Provost Marshalls Office listing the info you submitted on the Weapons Registration. Try contacting Saki Stringfield @ 831 386-3735 for your weapons permit.or the recorded information phone line (831) 386-3310 for hunt info. Hope this helps.

You do not need to register archery equipment, so as long as you have a FHL hunting pass you should be OK.

Does anyone know if mailing in the weapon registration forms is still valid or did the whole process changed to hand carried the forms to the police office? And does muzzleloader need to be registered as it does not have a serial number.

Mail in is fine. If you plan to hunt soon I would suggest hand carrying it in. It took about 2 months to get mine. Muzzleloaders need to be registered. I called and asked. Also, i heared there was a rumor that bows needed reg., this is not true. As far as the serial number gos i would call the police station and ask. Good luck!

L2H- Oops!:lol bashing sign: I meant When I did my Muzzleloader by mail all I needed to do was take a picture of it and email to the contact email after I sent in my application. Email it to ntozake.s.stringfield.civ@mail.mil

Hope this helps!
