I talked to Jim on the phone today and he told me about this monster, Jim as always was very cool about it and very relaxed when he mentioned it would have a shot at the Tule WR.

I was like, ok I'll go look at the pics..................

Now I'm thinking I need to bed Doug and Co to let me go take pics of this most beautiful beast.

And boys he's safe, very safe........at least from me.
Cant belive I waited all day to come check this out, GOSH.

Oh man, what a different meaning one little word does to a sentence! That is a crack up. Way to go broke-back on us.

Yeah I was sent another photo of him, same bull. Jim will get big bucks for that tag, and the guy might even want more than a polaroid for his 25K.... maybe he'll migrate south and ... nevermind

I'm far from being an expert on record book admissions for tule elk, but I've seen some up near Cache Creek that are pretty darn close to this in size. Is this really a "world" record, or a record book qualifier? Oh yeah, be sure to know that I am NOT downplaying this bull as he is an absolute friggin' monster! I guess I was just curious about the trophy potential of the bulls near me!

My cousin used to lease a hunting ranch outside of Patterson. On the way one time, just past The Junction, we had a bull as big or bigger bugle, not 20 yards from us, right off the side of the road. He had the basket on both sides. I know he was killed a few years after I saw him. $15000 was paid for the bull I saw. Also got to watch 2 satelite bulls fight out in the field. Sounded like to cars ramming each other. It was really cool to watch.

I would say he has 50 to 54 inch beams (assuming the barrel he is drinking from is 24 inches) while that makes him a very nice bull, I don't think he is even in the top ten bulls.

I mentioned the P&Y world record which is right at 312. The B&C world record is 379 with 47" and 51" main beams. The 379 bull was a freak that was found dead, probably of old age. The next bull is in the 340's and then it drops down some more. There is no doubt that the bull in the pic will blow the doors off the P&Y world record and most likely the #2 B&C. I'm not sure if it'll be a contender for the B&C world record. Remember, Tules are scored like Roosevelts. All the junk after the 4ths go right in to the score without semetry deductions. Who cares anyways. Incredible animal. Ed F

He would definently need some more junk up top to contend for the B&C World Record...maybe another year or two if he lives that long.

Ain't that the truth. Deerslam that isn't a slacker under your name. I have heard of way bigger than book bulls taken , just not recorded. I've seen some monsters, and have bagged them in my dreams. A lot of guys DON'T want the publicity. I'll put in for cow tag in CA, bull out of state. I can draw there.
