So, I got pulled from my normal duties as a fish tracker due to flood conditions and I was put on flood patrol working nights, 6 - 6. Lots of fun (said with heaping amounts of sarcasm)! I snapped a few shots in the past few weeks and I thought I'd share.

Enjoy,
Louie

thats pretty cool.. you usually dont see night life photography. So were you holding the camera in one hand and a flash light in the other? or is that light just from the flash?

the moon turned out good also.

Thanks for the comments guys. We were always partnered up out there and we had a spot light to help search for seepage, boils, sloughing, etc. I only got about an hour of daylight during my shift so after about a week of seeing all these critters at night, I decided to take my camera out and try to get some shots. I tried everything from using just the flash, to a flashlight, to the headlights on the truck but in the end, spotlighting did the trick. I know its not the greatest thing to do but it worked. The beaver pic was hard to get. I saw a few of them out there and the one time I was in postion to get a photo, he ended up being backlit. Of course, I saw my first badger out there on a night when I didn't have my camera with me. Thats the way it goes I guess. I thought I'd posted the barn owl pics but I guess I didn't so here they are along with a sunset on the levy photo. As for the moon, I had seen a few photos posted on here and wanted to try my hand at a moon shot. I was impressed with it myself.

Thanks again guys,
Louie
