No Digital Camera Needed....

.... if you have oldie but goody film print pics from the past. Just use a scanner (cheap) and work over the files with an edit program like Photoshop Elements 2. This one is a scan from a small drug store cheapo print from a cheapo point and shoot film camera about 7 years ago. Worked over in PSE2 and converted to sepia tone. Added the frame for a hoot. Anyway, easy to have digital picture fun without spending a fortune. WB

What did youuse to put the pic in a frame. I have photoshop 7.0 still learning to use it but have never seen a frame option...Or is this something just in elements?

g-h: This frame is from one of the Bud Guinn "actions" I downloaded and added to Elements 2. The original Elements program does include a few simple ones in the "Recipes" pallet.

PS 7 has it's own actions. You can do a web search and find them. Here is a source for some of Bud's latest. The ZIP folder should contain installation instructions also.

That's some nice work with the scanner. One of these days I'm going to sit down and learn more about photoshop. My wife as pS7, and I've tried to use it, but its intimidating.

Thanks Skipper - The scanner is easy for doing prints. A less expensive one will work fine. To scan negatives and slides you will need to spend a little $ for a better one to get good results.

I started out trying to use Photoshop 5 LE. I gave up, like most other people. Adobe then came out with Elements, and now Elements 2. This is a winner. You can get it for about $50 or less on sale with rebates. I took a couple of short adult school classes and bought a couple of good books. Lately I have downloaded and installed some free ad-on stuff that gives it most of the features of full on Photoshop. Your wife can help you with using the basic tools and features. She may find herself using it most of the time. IMO it really is all you need for digital photography. WB
