Hi I live in Big Bear, about a year now. I am pretty familiar with the area though i have been coming here for a long time, hiking, backpacking, 4 wheeling in my jeep, snowboarding backcountry in san G, mountain biking etc.
I am interested in deer hunting and I've taken the hunter class. I am self employed so I can and plan on getting out during the week and try and avoid hunting weekends. If anyone local to the area wants to team up and hunt weekdays let me know.
Yellow post camping or backpack overnight works for me, getting up early and hunting the morning or whatever. I am a pretty fit hiker so putting in miles or rough terrain off trail is not new to me. I was really hoping to do some hunting in San G but the lake fire put a stop to that. San G is my stomping ground so I am pretty bummed about the area. Although i have never been up the whitewater area out of the morongo valley, that may be a place to backpack it into and hunt.
Anyways I plan on hunting the north side of the lak,e holcolmb valley area to coxey meadow, and looking at going down bear creek thru the Sideria creek trail, or is it camp creek trail?
