We're going to do another guided hog hunt give away with Parrey from Just For Hunting. :hog chewing: http://www.justforhunting.com/

This give away will be for one person and one hog. If you win and want to book a second hunter Parrey can arrange that.
This pig hunt will included the 2 days of hunting, field care of the pig, and transportation during the hunt. Drinks and snacks as well. The hunter would need to secure lodging either in Redding or Red Bluff.

This is a $700 value.

This is the post MtnCruzr had from his hunt he won last year. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums/showthread.php/199757-Hog-Hunt-Give-Away-Trip-Result.

To enter this give away contest please tell us in a paragraph or two why you should win this guided hog hunt. Once we get a 2 weeks of replies we'll let the JHO staff pick the most deserving member to win this hunt. So bring the funny or youth hunters to sway some votes.

Here are last year's entries for the give away. http://www.jesseshunting.com/forums...-Give-Away-in-NoCal?highlight=hunt+give+nocal

Good luck.

"Where's Bruce?" asked the guide.

"He's kneeling down behind that rock praying to the Lord that he gets a boar and the boar doesn't get him." replied his partner.

Bruce stood up, looked his guides square in the eyes and said, "I'm ready to chase bacon and have 2 tags and a huge tip in my pocket for you guys cuz this hunt was free and I just know we will be successful." The guides looked at eachother and smiled...it was going to be a good day.

Bruce had previously made plans to travel to Redding at the end February so this was a fortuitous stroke of luck for middleaged San Clemente resident who had failed to ever fill a pig tag. Today would be different...today would be epic. Out on the ranch, a pig named Ned would soon be dead.

I would like to nominate my nephew Zach.

Some of you may remember the last give away when I nominated him. He was just turning 12 years old and his father had recently skipped out. I was trying to step in as the male influence in his life. I felt he was really deserving of the give away until MntnCruzr mentioned his dying cousin, I felt that MC's cousin could enjoy one last hunt more and I threw my support to him. This time around I am hoping that my nephew will get a shot at the hog hunt.

Zach is a wonderful young man and does a lot to deserve a reward like this. He has stepped up to the plate around the house taking over his absent father's position of man of the house. He handles all he is capable of at his own house and he is always helping my father with yard work at his place. Zach participates in a fund raising event every year put on by the St. Baldrick's foundation which supports child leukemia research. He wasn't pushed to do it by any family member, he just found out about what they do and was compelled to help, he's been doing it for several years now. What I really love about Zach is the way he treats my son even around his friends who want nothing to do with playing with a 6 year old. He is the perfect older cousin and my boy idolizes him.

I have tried to get him into hunting ever since his dad left. He went through hunter safety, and I was so proud of the focus he gave to the course. Many kids even older than he was were sitting in class playing video games on their phones. He payed attention to the entire thing and studied the material at night. He scored very high on his test, and when we are at the range with his sister he helps her with firearms safety. But despite the effort he has shown so far I have not been able to give him a good opportunity yet. I have taken him out many times, mostly for turkeys, and getting backdoored while in our blind by a flock of birds is the closest I have gotten him to killing something. Almost every other time we have gone all we see are droppings and old tracks. I am worried that his interest in hunting is withering. Anybody who has ever hog hunted knows it is a thrill like no other hunt. I am sure that if he were able to get a pig it he would be hooked on hunting the same way I was when I went pig hunting for the first time.

Zach is a smaller guy and I have gotten him a youth sized carbine in 44mag. He has become pretty comfortable with it, and is a decent shot. The kid is all geared up, with no place to go. Giving him this hog hunt would not only reward a person who is deserving of some praise, but I am sure that it would really create a new hunter. Having an experience like hunting hogs instills in a young man the excitement, adventure and reward of hunting an animal that fills the freezer, tastes great, and is a challenge to close in on. This experience changes a kid from somebody I have to bug to go with me to somebody who won't stop bugging me to take him hunting again. Currently I mostly hunt alone. One thing I learned from my last hunt, where I was partnered up with somebody is that being alone is a double edged sword. On one hand all errors are yours only, you don't have to suffer for somebody else's mistakes. But there is also nobody else to share the moment with. If Zach could become more of a hunting buddy to me I would have the opportunity to train him in my style, and also have the authority to correct his mistakes as he makes them. Also I could have somebody to celebrate with when we do find success. I love the kid, he is my family and I would love for him to get this chance of a lifetime.

Also I would definitely give another long winded report of the hunt afterwards. Except this time I will include a short version too for those who do not enjoy my poetic license.

My name is Brant, I'm 24, and I live in Chico, CA. In my quest for hunting hogs I fell onto this forum and had to change my diaper (excited reaction). SO MUCH HUNTING INFO. I know I may not have a lot of posts here yet... key word being yet. I do a lot of browsing.. and share only when I am sure I know the correct answer...no flaming. I love hunting...just ask my girlfriend.. but watch out, she yells.

I saw this post on CALGUNS, i'm brantly04 over there too.

I don't have a sad story to tell to have you guys feel some sympathy for me, just the average luck of a pig hunter in northern CA..... my gun barrel is ice cold. I have been on several pig hunts (20+) and have yet to take a pig. All of my friends have pigs under their belt and continue to....mock me. I have always wanted to hunt in the hills close to Chico (where I live), it's actually not too bad of a drive to the area and this sounds like the opportunity. Most of my hunts have been in lack luster spots (I think). I have been trying to get people together to hunt on some forums but everyone says the hunting sucks, find private land, etc...... I want to prove them wrong... let's do it, let's show em some hog in the freezer? I cannot financially afford to pay a guide at this moment to go on a hunt, but I always try to go out with little time I have and always come back.... empty handed. I would soak up all of the advice from the guide and share anything and everything I would learn...if anyone would want to hear it. I would take so many pictures it would be nauseating. I will have to tip the guide a lot...

Shoot a hog or not I would definitely enjoy the experience, I wouldn't still be trying to shoot hogs if I didn't enjoy the work it takes to get them, this is what I think hunting is all about... hard work. I would probably dance if I win this hunt.... I will post a video of it... if you would want to see it. :rotflmao:

So please..... :prayin ::prayin ::prayin ::prayin ::prayin : :pig-laughing::pig-laughing::pig-laughing::pig-laughing:

I love bacon, I love sausage, I love pork chops, I love pork loin, hell I even like pigs feet. If anyone wanted the meat I would def. share!...... maybe.... I get the first dibs on the pigs feet.

:prayin ::prayin ::prayin ::prayin ::prayin ::prayin :

I'll do anything....

Really, I will .... to (keywords here) get the chance to possibly just maybeshoot that squealing, oinking, stinky piggly wiggly

I really need to find out what I'm doing wrong ... please .... anyone can find a place to go ... I just need some assisted guidance counseling

I would like to nominate my friend Brent. Brent is my hunting partner. Brent has hunted for a long time and grew up in Monterey County hunting pigs. During the next 30 years of his life he took a back seat to hunting and made raising his kids and fulfilling their needs a priority. Brent also focused on his career and his retirement goals. Brent is now retired and some 30 years later is getting back into hog hunting. I would love to see Brent win this hunt based on one fact, he deserves it. I think someone who places others and other people’s needs over their own is deserving of something this nice. Brent has a passion for hunting hogs and I think this would be a perfect gift.
I would love to accompany Brent on this hunt and I have no problem with purchasing my own slot during this hunt.

Pick my buddy Scott!

:hog chewing::hog chewing:Two years ago I was stationed back here in lovely NAS Lemoore, CA. "Centrally located" is a polite way of saying in the "middle of nowhere!" The best part of coming back to Lemoore at the end of my 25 year career in the Navy is that I've rekindled old friendships and old passions that I had allowed myself to forget about. My friend Scott is most deserving of this HOG HUNT! :prayin : He reminded me to slow down once in a while and get back into the woods where we had spent time as younger men hunting and fishing together. More importantly his friendship and love for the outdoors has reminded me to pass those values along to my teenage son who has developed into a young man who enjoys the woods and better understands the importance of why I spent 25 years serving this great country. For that gift I will always be grateful, this hunt would go a long way in showing him just how grateful I am for his efforts and friendship!
He also can make the best sausage around and I know if he gets this hunt my freezer will reap the benefits!:JHO rocks::JHO rocks::JHO rocks:

For my wife.

I would like to enter this give away for my wife, She wants so badly to understand and accommodate my passion for hunting. My wife was raised by a man who hated all animals and killed them just to kill, she has a intense passion for wildlife and initially resisted my love of hunting. But over the years has taken to shooting and started to enjoy it, we haven't been able to go out and actually hunt much due to the following story I will write. We are currently buying our first handgun and she is interested in getting her CCW and joining a womans hunting/shooting club. We have been married for 8 years and they have been very long long years for her. We married when she was 18 and I 21, I went through Paramedic school starting 2 months after getting married and through the stress of school, and working 4-24hr shifts a week, and then 3-24's of work and 3-24's of training a week I started drinking heavily on my one and only day off. She suffered through this for 8 months, Then upon becoming a Paramedic, I had an episode of infidelity and shattered her heart. This woman should have left me for so many reasons. But stood by me and all of the heartache I caused her, after moving to Texas (where we never got the chance to hunt) I was injured on the job and now have chronic knee pain/issues and am pretty much unable to walk much in the field. She has taken this all in stride and given me 2 beautiful sons, Justin 3 and Toren 20 days old, 3 days after having our second son she broke her ankle (17 days ago) and then started to experience postpartum depression. This woman has pulled herself up by her boot straps so many times in our marriage and she amazes me everyday. She loves me so much I can't even fathom it. She is my world and I am blessed to even have had the chance to know her. :heart-beating: So, I nominate her. Because I KNOW she will fall so deeply in love with our sport that she will be an asset to sportsmen and women. Thanks for the opportunity.

Ok folks, I, like a few others have already stated, don't really have a compelling situation that would pluck your heart strings so I will have to do what any self-respecting southern California hunter would do; throw a BBQ!

I WILL BBQ the whole hog for a JHO BBQ/party. For all JHOers to attend.

I hope to see you all there!

I was going to nominate myself, and don't get me wrong I would LOVE to go on this hunt, but sounds to me like this kid deserves it and the entire hunting community would benefit from it. I grew up with a deadbeat dad and not much family at all for that matter and know how hard it is for this kid. And for him to step up and be a big-cousin says something else great about the kid. Much kuddos to Fug to step up and fill the role as best he can. The hunting youth is our chance to keep hunting in our future. A strong willed kid like Zach could prove to be a powerful advocate for all hunters. Give it to Zach!

I would like to nominate my nephew Zach.

Hi my name is Mike Sinay. I am 37 , mairred ,3 kids, 2 step sons and one of my own. I worked as a Auto tech, for 12 years, then the shop closed. About the same time is when the econime took a crap, every job i found was short lived . One after another they all whent up side down . So i rolled my "chainge" and whent and got my Trapper's licensed and a trap. I thought i would do something that was more a nasesaty , not really driven by the market. I am trying hard but the work is not stedy yet . I can just pay the bills and food on the table, so i don't have the extra money to go on a hunt . We don't really have any place to go pig hunting around where i live , with out driving for long time "I.E." fuel (money). And my son (Brody) just got his hunting licnes and can't whate untell he turns 12 so that he can be a "big game" hunter. He asks me all the time if have found us a place to go hunting when he turns 12. I am willing to give up my place to give him the chanse to go on a pig hunt. Thanks , Mike Sinay

I am not sure that we are really voting on this but if so my vote goes to Fugaloo's nephew Zach. I never had a friend or family member that hunted and came to it myself. Having a family member take you under the wing and show you the ropes is a great opportunity and anything to help him along would be great.

Nor cal Hog HUnt giveaway

I would like to nominate my brother Mike.He does soo much for my kids,my parents, and family. One time one of my other brothers got stupid and took my dads work truck without permission and crashed it.To my surprise my brother Mike tells my dad he could use his truck to go work. After soo much use, Mikes' truck breaksdown and hes forced to buy a new truck and again offers it up to my dad.I dont know about you, but i dont know anybody who would offer up their 2010 truck for use on a gardening route, but HE did!!.He deserves this hunt for his acts of kindness and selflessness. He also helps pay for my kids hobbies and activities which i appreciate very much.Im soo lucky to have a brother like him.He does too many things to list for the family. He is also an expectant new Dad and is stressing out about alot of things including his new baby.I think this trip would help him relax and regroup even if its just for a few days.
Thank you for your time and patience,
John Uribe

You have got to be kidding me there are only a dozen guys that would want a chance at a bore like the one from last year??? Plus we might even smack a predator or two.
We have not hunted this ranch since Christmas so it should be pretty darn good..well worth a free try anyway!!

I would love to put in for something like this, but not until the partition litigation is done and over. I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel yet. I think Zach should get this one.

First, I'll say THANKS for sponsoring the site and offering the wonderful opportunity for the planned free hunting trip to some deserving person. From what I can tell from my relatively short period of time reading this site, I suspect many of the people who read this feel that while they would love to go, it really is something that should be reserved for someone who has "special circumstances." For example, I'm fortunate enough to be able to afford to have gone hunting with a guide a couple times already this year and I plan on taking my wife with me on a guided hunt later this year. So while think it would a great adventure to have her go with you on her first hog hunt, I think someone else more "in need" should be chosen. Hope you have a great fun hunt.
