2 buds and I went out today for a few hours of Shed'n and picked up 23 (or 24) Sheds, the single sheds we are holding should push 80 inches each hopefully...6 2/8 bases on each shed with at least 23 inches of mass each....short tines, but double brows and app 25 inch main beams, also picked up a nice 4 pt but all the rest were just plain old sheds...as well as some real small ones LOL!

Must have snowed at least 5 cm last night (almost 2 inches) but by 11 AM it was melting like crazy! Very nice day!

Great Picture with an impressive day's work. Do you find them bunched up? So did you find them in beddin areas, feeding areas, where? In the south our deer don't yard up so we don't have deer concentrated. Thanks for sharing. Wayne

Okay Abbuck, how bout some details, like what kinds of areas you find em in and over what size area(s) did you have to search to score that massive pile of bone? What's the DOWN SIDE of living in Canada??? Beautiful women, great beer and awesome shed hunting like that? Let me guess....low taxes too? God I'm jealous....awesome sheds.

AWESOME!!A few years ago that would have been my year end total. The only difference my average shed in my pile would have been half the size of those.

ah yes, another example of how people on this board seek to drive me nuts with statements like that
<
I'll take those plain old ones if you don't want em! lol

It looks like you guys had a great day. Those singles you are holding look like good ones. We tried to go out yesterday but it was howling windy and snowing until about 2 in the afternoon. We only ended up with one fresh shed between the two of us( and I didn't pick it up). I plan on getting out tomorrow or tuesday and hopefully will have better luck.

Congrats aabuck, that is a great day. I enjoy your site as well. I have to get on and do my daily check of the websites with shed antler forums. Your is one of the ones I always check daily. Again congrats on a great day.

WBPruett,

We actually only hit 4 spots that we seen were being hit earlier in the season, a hot day (later on) had the tips sticking out of the snow :) I'd say about half of them were in feeding areas, and one was found in a bed. The rest were picked up on trails from the bedding to feeding areas. It's a bit tougher this year as the winter was pretty mild so the deer did not yard up as much...but the did yard up :)

Shag,

Only draw back would be....hmmmmm can't really think of any right now LOL, but I'm sure I will
<
I think I answered your questions above when I answered WB, but I forgot to add that we hit all these spots already and pulled out some other decent antlers (Myself only one though LOL) We headed out at 8 Am I walked back in my house at 6:30 PM...we did some serious walking!

deershed,

Thanks!

baddison,

I just found out it's actually a real nice 4 pt, my bud measured it out at 71 1/8...surprised me :)

Tsmola,

Don't get me wrong LOL even the small ones are good, but they had no character, just regular 4 and 5 points....there has been many days I have walked hours at a time and have come home with one fork...but that one shed made it worth it! :)

Cam,

Thanks! Its days like these that keep you going...you never know what is out there! The sheds that Chad and I are holding are a matched set I just held mine at a bad angle (he found them both...we knew the other side had to be close by with the mass it had...so about 10 minutes later he found it...only 20 yards away LOL...at least my footprints were not near it when he found it LOL) We scored the set at 76 & 73 Inches, I thought they would have scored more...main beams went 23 inches, we both pegged them at 25 but he is still happy! It should have a nice spread though...it looks like he walked into a wall in velvet LOL. I hope you had some luck, you sure smoked the Mulie sheds the other day! I think I'll have to head over to Sasky and help you out a bit (at least carry yours LOL)

shedhuntingislife,

Only 4 spots, but we blanketed the area walking back and forth through the bush and glassing the fields, lots of walking though...I almost fell over exhausted midway through LOL

coyotebandit,

If that was my matched set it would be a good day LOL I was probably happier then my bud when he picked up the match to his set!! You got me though, it was a great day!! Best day for me in a long time :)

IowaShedHunter,

Thanks for the congrats and the compliment on the site! Thanks for visiting also! Its not too active in the shed forum over there right now...only the diehards LOL...but were missing some others, hopefully they are too busy walking the bush & fields :)

Good Luck to everyone Shed'n! I'm heading out solo tommorow, hopefully find at least one :) Problem is I seen a few still carrying :( I guess they did not get my Email to drop them! :)
