You may be right Mikey. Last one I saw was in July crossing the road as I was leaving the archery range with Austin.

Got another question for you tra. Seems you can access a lot of it without a boat? Is just the Northwest portion the area you need a boat for or does that include the area south of the marina? Its hard to tell from the maps. Thanks.

Might have to take up archery just for this place (sounds like crossbow is allowed too?), heck I've already gotten into muzzleloaders for FHL so might as well.

Depending if u haul your boat on trailer or roof top. On the liberty glen side u can launch off from the main marina and head out in either direction but longer to get to the yorty creek side. U can get to the yorty creek side through cloverdale about 6 more miles from the main park entrance on 101 north. But u can only do rooftop boat launch u can not use a trailer to haul a boat in on that side to twisty and narrow and tight. ......tra

Sorry if my question wasn't clear. I have no boat and don't intend on getting one. Seems like from the map I can hunt all the areas without a boat except west of cherry creek on the north side?

I am sorry bro! Got ahead of myself on that one. Yeh the few years i have been hunting the yorty side from what i can tell u need a boat to cross cherry creek to get to the other side, i have been trying to figure out the walking route to get to that side of cherry creek which i believe is possible but never tried yet, and no one has shown me that i have been with. But i bet there are some nice pigs hangin out on that side and i want to find out. I would think some of our other hard core lake hunters would no for sure. I might attemp to try and hike the route when i do my prescouting trip soon up there. What sucks is when u hike the are on that yorty side and your facing cherry creek its not that much distance to cross the creek to get to the other side but u stll need a boat, so close and yet so far! Butt thats one section i do want to check out....tra

No way across Cherry creek without a boat! When I don't take my boat I usually will just go walk Liberty Glen area. Yorty Creek gets hit hard by ALOT of locals who just walk out of the lot. Not alot of ground you can cover out that way...U could always post up and hunt the beaches though like Bsanders buddy does! beach-soccer-girls.jpg

Hey thanks for the offer, thats why I love these forums lots of great people. I will probably be working on getting a bow I think, been wanting to try archery a while and it sure increases opportunities for hunting. I'll def send you a pm if I make it up to ls this season. Good luck out there!
