Found her at my dad's work place inside the cup. What a nasty little suprise. The cup was out side on the work bench. I was moving stuff around when I saw her coming out.

Beautiful, isn't she?

The kids and I found one in the corner of our garage last winter and, after his request, mailed it to my father in Michigan (in none other than a 'HOT' Salsa jar).

After checking her out, he began feeding her crickets as fast as she could eat them. Within a couple of weeks she had THREE egg sacks hanging in her "home." I warned him to break out the lighter fluid and matches...but noooooo, I'm his son and "what do I know," right?

I get a call about a week later. Her, and her THOUSANDS (or so it seemed to him) of babies were out in the foot deep snow getting their winter training in. Seems he didn't enjoy having one of the babies dropping down from the ceiling fan in the kitchen. After further scrutiny, seems those breathing holes were a LITTLE large for properly confining the "little" ones.

Yeah, he NUKED the house with Raid after that little episode (thank goodness my Mom didn't find out or he would have been full of holes promptly (bad phobia of spiders). And yeah, I laughed my butt off too. But hey, I'm the son, what do I know?

I have them around the wood pile at home; only one or two. Neat to watch, but I usually squash the big ones since the kids might accidentally stick their hand in a hiding spot. I also had one on my had a long time ago. It had been dislodged when I was weeding a planter bed. Without gloves on, I didn't let her stay long enough to square off.
