OK, how 'bout XTi vs. 40D

Anyone have experience with the two? I'm wondering if the 40D is worth the extra coin. Right now it's on Amazon with a Canon 28-135mm IS lens (the lens I was considering getting with an XTi) which would make it about $400 more than the XTi.

I'm still not ready to buy yet so hopefully the price gap will shrink over the next couple months.

I think that's what I've decided, even if I have to hold out a little longer to come up with the extra cash....
