I'm thinking about buying one and bye the looks of the pictures you guys take I figured I'd better ask the experts.

It's pretty much a point and shoot and is weather resistant which is nice. I just wish it had more than a 3x zoom. This will be my first digital camera. If I get it I will probably also buy an upgraded lithium battery and a 128 MB storage card.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I found a great price on it too but after adding the upgrades and shipping I'm up to about $460.00. I found the camera itself for $279.

I think it's a great choice. The weather resistant part is one thing I'm interested in, so I'm considering getting it for my hubby. I agree with you that 3X optical is kinda limiting. I have the Oly C3000, and it's got 3X optical. There are many times I wish I had more telephoto. The top end of most of these camera that say "3X" is about 100 mm equivalent in 35 mm terms. That's not very much. The great thing about the 400 Stylus is its size, though. It's only like 5.8 ounces, right. Anything with more lens will be at least twice that, and bulkier. For a "carry around all the time" camera, I think it's a good choice.
