Thx guys.
1.)No dew marks right?
2.)Do they always leave a dew mark or does it depend on the soil?
3.)Do they step on their prints?
If you guys have any pics of prints I would like to see them.

XDHunter,
That is a fantastic website...............very, very useful. Absolutely first class in the presentation and quantity of pictures and information. Many thanks for posting this excellent Mammal game animal footprint, forage, scat and habitat website.

Most of the pigs are on the far end of TA 29. but you have to compete with Kitty near the Lake.:skeered:

Lary, dont have a plan with Raymund, but the family will be back on the last week of Jan. after the deer season.

hiline: we all make mistakes. I found some elk pellets once and thought I'd found some huge mutant herd of mule deer.

ca hog track (dew claws much wider than hooves:

deer (dew claws no wider than hooves):

hogs leave dew claw marks much more often than deer but as you suspected, neither leave them very often. better chance to see them in soft soil or when the animal is going down hill. both will step in their prints sometimes, so you can''t use that to differentiate. Hog scat is very distinct, so you can use that also, as well as wallows and rooting.
