Well after a short drive to the Antelope Valley, I will be in Pig country with the BOSS on my shoulder.
So what I have learned from you fine Pig Hunters is that I want a Pig under 150 lbs preferably a Sow
or a healthy juvenile Boar. NO BIG FAT OLD GUYS, But I guess a BIG FAT OLDER GAL would be OK.
Now I have heard a wet sow is good eaten but isn't she still nursing if she is wet and one last thing
heard about Prego sows they wouldn't be prego this time of year correct ?

Pigs have no "breeding season", they can be pregnant anytime. Just look for teats, if they look heavy and are low, she's still wet. If a pig is standing still for a long time, but not feeding, it's probably a sow with little ones latched on.

Have fun out there. Take your time if you do find game. Make sure your shot is true. Best of luck and as always be safe.

Hunt with a bow instead of a gun then u will have a real exciting wild pig hunt adventure story to post later successful or not.
Well good luck on your hunt and just remember not to shoot it between the eyes and bury it in a pile of leaves......lol.....tra

Yes it did !
The pigs had went Nocturnal, plenty of sign just no pigs during hunting hours, it is a beautiful property !
Hoping to get back out there pretty soon. Tons to Hunt
It is really amazing where pigs can go, I never made it to the second or top platues but they did, need it to cool down and get some more rain, get some mushrooms and such growing

I agree with roman archer, bow hunting hogs is one of the most challenging and exciting hunts you can do. Give it a try!

Need to get a little more time in the field, and then I can't see why not.

Not asking for the exact spot, but around where did you end up going? The mountains around kern are oddly with out snow and feels like spring. Wonder what other areas are like.

U know what’s weird u have all kinds of post getting ready for your 3 day first wild pig hunt but not much info or story on how your 3 day hunt went and where’s all the pics. How was the weather for your 3 day hunt, Like what were your hunting hrs did u get out before sunrise did u stay out till sunset, did u have any encounters with predators or other game animals, any mishaps, how was your camping arrangements for the hunt. What did u guys do for meals. Did u learn any valuable lessons on your first pig hunt and what u would do different on your next. U got us all hyped up for your first pig hunt then very short boring recap of your hunt, u should always have an exiting first pig hunt story successful or not, did u see Bigfoot by any chance....lol....tra

I totally agree with Roman Archer ^^^^^^ a crap ton of posts leading up to a guided pig hunt, and then after the hunt, virtually nothing! To each his own, but my hunts are filled with adventure, even when there's no kill.
