Here are a couple from opening day. My daughter's expression tells the story on the turkey hunting score, but she did better at fishing. The spec in the background is her boyfriend. He spent his day untangling bird's nests from his baitcasting reel that I lent him. Daughter caught 11 bass in the meantime - see dad smile.

Today was our opener too. Didn't make it out this morning have to make the schedule date for work. I had the privilage to be tied up all day on the job and that meant no gobble gobble for me.

Nice pics

Theres nothing like catching bass in a farm pond.. I was spoiled on bass fishing a stock tank growing up. Congrats to your daughter. You guys done chasing gobblers? or do you have another shot at them?

Thanks Mike and Chris, I have one more shot in two weeks, but frankly the Texas season is way too late in our part of the state and most of the hens are sitting on nests by mid april. May have to rely on d20 shot with a F 8.0 choke!

Our birds here are not on nest yet. But next year if you want to make a 2 hour or so drive north to kill a bird let me know. Went out this evening and had two jakes come in and passed on both.

Hope you don't scatterto many feathers with that D20. Heard it is a nice shooter. I might take mine out and try to get a few shots off tomorrow. And Saturday will defintely have some more shots, but they will be of bass. I am a fisherman more than a turkey hunter.

Again nice pics.

Mighty nice of you Mike! I'd be happy to return that favor with a bass fishing junket to my fishing hole. Meanwhile, I'll look forward to seeing some pics of old bucket mouth from you next week.

The pic of your daughter with the bass reminds me of the Brad Paisley song "Ain't nothin Like". The line goes something like Ain't nothin like draggin a hoola popper a cross a spot a big'n outta be".

Know it well Zach. Casie is a big BP fan. Except in our case it was Zoom Horney Toads rather than Hoola Poppers!
