Openings are still available for Turner's Tejon Ranch hog hunts

The Turner's Outdoorsman series of non-guided hunts on the Tejon Ranch have proven so popular with hunters that Andy McCormick added four more dates to the six already slated for next year.
"We had so many people interested in going on these hunts that we just had to add more dates," said McCormick. "The Tejon is an awesome place and we want as many people as possible to experience hunting there."
Dates for the 2003 hunts are as follows: February 14-16, March 21-23, April 4-6, April 11-13, April 18-20, May 2-4, May 16-18, May 23-25, June 20-22, and July 18-20.
The price will stay the same for 2003 - $510 per hunter, which includes lodging and all food during the hunt, ranch permits, and the mandatory $10 insurance policy. Additional hogs may again be taken for $200 each.
Success rates ranged from 50 to over 100 percent, with some hunters taking a second hog.
New this year, all on-site arrangements will be run by veteran hunter, guide and caterer Jack Ku, who also runs axis deer hunts on a private ranch in Hawaii each year. Ku is well-known on the Tejon Ranch for his skills in the kitchen.
A verbal reservation list for these hunts, which are consponsored by California Hog Hunter and Mike Raahauge Shooting Enterprises, has been created for each hunt date, along with waiting lists. After the first of the year, hunters with reservations will be asked to send checks to confirm their reservations. Interested hunters should the call California Hog Hunter office now (909-475-1133) to reserve slots for a hunt date or to get their names at the top of the waiting lists for any date.
