Way too early to do that, I think. There's a whole hunting season to think about first, and who knows how much money they'll blow, or if they'll find a different deal sooner, during that time? I think that February or March is soon enough to start that planning. Jason, when did we start up the deposits and so on for the May 22, 2011 POR?

Once I get the apps from Jodi I will post up to gather information from all who is interested. I will probably post up in Feb for the April Hunt.

Yes. I am interested. How many hunters ? Camping or cabin price differential ? How many days ?

I'm going to Sonoma county in October for a hunt and I'm down for a Spring Tejon hunt for sure .

this hunt is from noon friday to 4pm Sunday. The cost is 450.00. More than likely it will be Tent or RV camping as I do not see the need to reserve the cabin. The max number of hunters allowed is 50, in which the last 4 years this has never come close to that many people. It usually is between 18 and 30 people.

Hi Jesse, this past varmint season membership was my first at Tejon. Where you are is a very good place. There might be better places but I don't know where they are. I know where you've been is a very good place. If ground squirrels of are any interest the last weekend you picked, around May 20 or thereabouts was absolutely the best weekend for ground squirrels. I'd stay where you are until you are positive there's a better place. I would speak with Mark Miller of Riverside Varmint Callers Club and see what he thinks. Good luck. You've got a good thing going. I will re-new my varmint membership in February 2012! I love the Tejon Ranch!

Jesse, winter hung on for a long while this past year and roads were not good until later. Be careful what you wish for. If winter holds on the rains will keep you off the steeper areas. Good luck.

The Tejon Ranch is such an incredible beautiful place to hunt that time of the year shouldn't matter that much. May gives you more favorable weather and more access to roads without the fear of getting stuck as much as you would be concerned if you were to hunt earlier, like April. The third weekend in May is perfect.

I've been on the Ranch Three times. Love that place and it's less than an hour away from home for me. The southside has a place called Bear trap that's got plenty of room for R/V's and tents. No hook ups but hey it's a weekend! I would love to get in on this. First weekend in April is usually pretty good. Never hunted the northside. If it were a bit more affordable I would join the Tejon Hunting Ranch, Spring access. Lots of bobcats and coyotes and ground squirrels. Definitley having a 4X4 is a huge PLUS!!!! As I experienced some weather on a december hunt there and had to put the chains on my jeep, 33" BFG All Terrains were not rugged enough! With the chains on Ol' Bleu (as I call her) climbed like a billy goat. I met two of the best hunting buddies ever on that hunt.

Is this open to Archery hunters as well? I hunted the South side last year and had a great time. I would like to meet up with you guys and do it this year if archery is an option. If it is how are my chances since there will be gun fire nearby? Will they scatter even if they are far away from the shot?

Any tire can fail, I had a new Big O Mudder peel off the tread and nearly wreck me out near Tucson when it beat the axle and wheel well. Jeeps are short wheel based and you can't go fast in them or they will flip if you make a sudden move. That's why I said you were crazy when you said you do 70 MPH in your Jeep. Google the Jeep video where they show how easy it is to flip one, you won't see me flying down the freeway in one.

MRC-151 we flipped on I-215. Got cut off and the swerve to avoid the collison flipped the Jeep. Nobody was hurt thank god. The fact these old Jeeps couldn't do much more than 55 MPH probably saved lives.

yea but the funny thing is that I was going maybe 55mph and was coming to a stop when it blew out and cause my jeep to flip plus when offroading I tore up a new set on some rocks went back with my good years and no problem what so ever

JMS you can use Archery or firearms as long as your shooting non lead ammo.
