Crodog,

I took him up near Paso Robles last year. I'm not sure what he weighed, but the long hair makes him looks bigger than he really was. Not to say I wasn't glad to have my buddy to help me drag him to some flat ground for quartering (not to mention carrying out).

Shay Man...I got my priorities straight it's just my wife doesn't share the same priorities. Something about family, blah, blah, blah, housework, blah, blah, blah, money, blah, blah, blah, spend time with me, blah, blah, blah!!!

I love her though so I put up with it.

Good luck in the OR vs. CA you'll need it!

I hear ya about the wife thing. Oh wait no I don't. I don't have a wife. I forgot.

Like I said priorities. j/k

As far as "good luck". I appreciate the sentiments.

As far as "we are going to need it" I believe we will be able to hold our own. We've been in the woods a time or two. Even seen an animal or two, heck even have gotten close enough for a shot.

Work where you can hunt, that's the ticket. I've got a buddy in Mississippi that took a great buck from his back porch.

I mean, occasionally we hear gunshots here in LB, but it's not the same.

Shots followed by squealing tires just isn't the same is it? Post a photo of your buddies buck. That would be cool to see.

Shay...I'm just razzin' ya. I hope you all have a great time and draw plenty of blood. (By the way you gotta find the animal once you draw the blood to make it count.) I can't wait to watch the video!

I know you are. This is going to be a kick. I just hope it all turns out, like I'm imagining it in my head.

I've gotta get my "old" hunting pictures transfered to disc so i can post 'em up....show some monster TN whitetails (90lb'ers) that i've taken over the years.

Anybody got an idea on how i can do this...don't own a scanner.

You should be proud of your first bow kill!!! That is a heck of a hog... Take advantage of the opportunities you work for...

A.S.

Without a scanner, i don't know how you would do it. I wonder if a Kinkos would allow you to scan. I've been in the process over the past few years transfering to digital. Sure is nice knowing that your memories will be preserved forever.

Orso-

I have respect for anyone that takes a trophy with traditional gear. I find bowhunting hard enough with modern equipment, I couldn't imagine trying to make it harder by using a traditional setup. I screw up enough as it is, don't need to make it any harder.

Congrats on an awesome hog, and also doing it the hard way.

Like bears, hogs are a pain in the butt to deal with once they are on the ground. No horns to drag them by.

Last time I was at Choppers, he showed me where he shot that hog. Didn't look like real fun getting it out. But sometimes those things hunker down in the nastiest crap, and on the steepest hillside.

It's good to see Dolly is still doing her job. Hopefully she won't have to come out this weekend but odds are she will. I watched that dog drag 130LB arrow hit hog over a hundred yards to me and chopper. It was the most amazing thing i have ever witnessed. The fighting started when she caught it and probably went on for 10 min.... I have a picture and video somewhere....
