JUST ADD WATER
The free Get WET (Water Education Today) event is a day for families to learn about water resources through interactive activities and educational booths.
The eighth annual event, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, will feature garden tours, animal shows, conservation booths, amphitheater activities and shows.
It will be held at the American River Water Education Center, 7775 Folsom-Auburn Road, Folsom.

BATS OF THE BUTTES
Study bats of the Sutter Buttes on Saturday with mammal biologist David Wyatt during a group hike.
Participants will meet at 2:30 p.m. to carpool. Registration is through the Middle Mountain Foundation. The cost is $35.

• Pete Pumphrey will lead a one-day fly-fishing workshop – choose 9 a.m.-2 p.m. June 5 or June 6 – at Sorensen's Resort, 14255 Highway 88, Hope Valley; $85 each; (800) 423-9949.

Keep Saturday evening open for a star date with Don Machholz, author and comet hunter.
Machholz will explore the night sky with his telescopes and talk about the galaxies.
The stargazing presentation is from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. at the Placer Nature Center, 3700 Christian Valley Road, Auburn. Reservations suggested. Cost is $6.
