Saw this bull the during the first week of June and although his fronts really stood out he still had a lot of growing to do before I could tell how nice he would turn out. We'll this morning I found him again and after a several hour stalk I was within 50 yds of him and his buddies. His growth in the past three weeks has turned out to be rather impressive. He's going to make a nice mount for some lucky tagholder..... that is if anyone can find him.

Awsome. My blood is boiling. A good friend of mine has the OV archery tag. I'll be helping him out. I'm leaving Fri for a family/scouting trip. Thanks for the pics. Ed F

In general, take about 1/3 off of everything, to get a tule elk. There are of course monster Tules that get up to rival large size roosevelts and rockies. And vice-versa. As you are very familiar with our Elk you would definately notice the size difference.

I got a pig of cow in the Owens Valley about 12 years ago that was half the size of the Roosevelt cow my co-worker shot last year in Polk County.

A big tule elk bull can run over 800 lbs and we see that every year at Grizzly Island (but those are probably the fattest elk in the state), cows usually run around 350-450 lbs. Tule elk are smaller but not that much smaller when they are well fed.
