Still very still, nothing moving at all, sitting under a big old oak waiting for the sun to get low. This oak tree does not want me here, about every 3 min it hits me with an acorn.

While I was in the canyons I found a big bull elk dead with its antlers tangled in barbed wire and wraped around a tree, he was a big old boy to, to bad he had to go out like that. I'll have some pics of him up later.

If that was back where you got your last pig that spot is like a graveyard. Pete (BigbubbyDaddy) found a lion cache of pig kills back in there, gave me the willys. Skulls everywhere.

No luck on pig sightings this trip like i said nothing was moving, i didn't even see any squirrels let alone pigs. Was a good trip though as i would much rather be out here looking for pigs as mowing the grass or pulling weeds out of the flower beds:sunglasses-yellow:. Looks like its going to be just a one day hunt as i really do have to get this work done but one day is better than none.

Here are some pics of the bull elk i found. This guy (a 6X6) struggled for a long time.

Not a good way to go for sure, I bet the coyotes or a lion heard all that commotion and were chewing on him before he expired. You don't see much barb wire on FHL, it's mostly concertina wire that I see. Thanks for the pics.

You got some epic pic's right there, that tree is stripped clean, ruts in the ground, pile of wire with logs entangled.

I know lots of people collect sheds. If you wanted could you take that rack? How would dfg know you didn't poach that elk? I guess those pics would prove it by suppose you didn't have a camera? Is there a regulation on that kind of thing?
