I am not going to be camping, I am going to come early Saturday and leave that night. So set yourselves up where ever you are interested in. Here's the info for LK. Cuyamaca CG that is right on the lake.
Ok, I called the Lake Cuyamaca CG (this is not the state park, which is full) The lady told me that there are several tent sites and some RV sites still available for this weekend $21 per site for tents. These sites DO NOT have fire pits or grills, just a table and an outhouse. 1-877-581-9904 to make a reservation. I suggest you call today or tomorrow if you want a site here. If you want to rough it for free, contact mezcan via PM to get the location he is camping at.
I think after everyone has determined their camping scenario, we are about ready for action. I'll PM everyone who has signed in for this and give the last minute details where to meet Wednesday.
Palladin, I would love to do that (thanks for reminding me), but I think we need to clear any photos of this hunt through the USFS, the DFG, Sierra Club, San Diegans Against the Pig Monsters and the Julian Pie company before we can publish them in any public forums.
BBF; got your PMs; thanks! I'll have a dozen or so copies of the topo for that area with me; we can make sure everyone has one for reference. Note these will be computer printouts (8.5x11; but have the same level of detail as usgs 7.5). Also have an extra two-way radio for use too.
Also; I'll be staying up there at the meetup spot for the night. As mezcan said; I got a shovel and food!
Looking forward to meeting y'all in a few days; going to be a blast!

Edit: I'll have gear with me to stay through Sunday depending on how things go, etc.
Ok so I am down at Lake Henshaw. Mezcan and I went looking for some piggies no luck no sighs. But if I could have traded my rifle for a shotgun and a dog we could have bagged a limit of quail.
When you guys come down for the weekend hunt bring lots of water it's hot, hot did I say it's hot. We went trough 3 half liter bottles of water, on a four hour walk. Could have used more. Down a liter of powerade when we got back to trucks.
Here's the response from CRSP after I contacted the HQ of the State Park system:
"I am sorry that no one has returned your calls from Cuyamaca Rancho State Park. As the Superintendent here it is my policy that all calls get returned as close to the day we receive them as possible. Please let me know what number you called so I can directly deal with this issue. On the hunting issue, by legislative order, no hunting is allowed on state park property by the public. The designation of “state park” comes with a set of rules concerning how we can and can’t operate. If a park is designated a “state recreation area” such as Lake Perris in Riverside County, then hunting is allowed. A parks designation is decided by the State Park Commission at the time it is consider for including in the system.
I do know that the Cleveland National Forest allows hunting on their property. If you go to their website at http://www.fs.fed.us/ and type in the CNF name, it will bring you to their site where you can find phone numbers to the section of the park nearest you.
At this time, I don’t know where the pigs are crossing into the CNF. We have various wildlife cameras set up, but haven’t seen many in those areas. We do know that they like to hang out in the river drainages, namely the San Diego River drainage and the Boulder Creek drainage. (BBF- nothing new here) But as time passes we will see more and more of them all over San Diego.
I have no ideological issues with hunters and have worked in many state recreation areas where they were welcome. I do understand your frustration with no one getting back to you. You now have my direct email address and phone number. Feel free to contact me at any time with questions or concerns."
