Pee Wee the horse

After 15 years, I was finally able to get a photo of our ranch's horse. We've had him for 15 years and every time I am near him, he turns his butt towards me. The feeling is mutual. But, after completely ignoring him last night while taking pictures of our yearling bulls, he finally posed long enough for me to get two photos of him. They turned out pretty good so I thought I would share.

what kind of horse is he? Do yall ride him much?

Um, he is a orangish horse. I have no idea what breed of horse he is. I do know he was broke as a cutting horse (hold on when you ride him) and is occasionally used to get a cow into the barn during calving season. My father-in-law is the only one who rides him, and that is just when needed. Our ranch uses 4 wheelers instead of horses, so he has a pretty laid back life - grazing with the bulls and enjoying sunshine. The fact that he resides with the bulls for most of the year makes it harder for him to be aggressive with the cows. We had to get a cow, who was on the fight, to the barn this spring and her calf proceeded to step under Pee Wee. Pee Wee decided to protect the calf and almost got himself and my father-in-law hooked. He is a good horse though.
