Photo to "colored pencil sketch"

This photo is of my son from a while back. It's one of my favorite shots of him so I converted it to a "colored pencil sketch" in Photohop Elements. I think it turned out pretty good...anything you guys think I could do different or better?

Looks like you took the shadow out on his face and the ground in front of him??

yes i could add more or take it away. i like the look of it with out any color. would you like to see it that way?

Sure.....how did you select just those areas to lighten the shadows? I like foolin' around with Elements, but I think CS has a better tool selection...just can't justify the price difference for as much as I use it at this point. Still tryin' to figure things out...

Yes Rem, I do have gaussian blur.....I'll mess with it a bit. I think Elements has a lot of the same tools as CS but I know that CS is a much better program. I like it....
