This was my first chance to get something other than songbirds with my new Rebel XT. I bought just the body and use the lenses I had with my Elan. These were taken with an old EF 100-300mm. I love that 1.6x crop factor.

That XT is a great camera. Lenses, lenses, lenses.

Good Luck. Great pics.

Thanks for the compliments.

I've had it for three months now. I'm still amazed at how good the XT is. I'm using a 28-80mm USM that came with my Elan and an old EF 100-300mm f5.6. The 100-300 is slow and noisy, but it takes really nice pictures. I will upgrade my lenses eventually, but these will do for now.

I did pick up an EF 50mm f1.8 to play with for low light and portraits. At $80, it is well worth the price.

KC,
That 50mm is a great lense....almost makes one think the others are way overpriced. I bought the XT with a 18-55 kit lens in june. That lense was fine because I knew no better. My daughter had a dance recital in Branson, so I got a 70-200mm Sigma 2.8. It is unbelievable. I got a 1.4 tc to add for deer/wildlife shooting. I got the 50mm on some other's recommendations and just yesterday my Tamron 28-75 SP XR Di came in. I am testing it out tomorrow. I'm tapped for a while. I still want a 150mm sigma macro and a really big zoom like a 500mm.

Good Luck,
Otto
