OK guys, this is what you might call "opportunity knocking"........

My regular hunting buddy had to drop out of our party (of 4 guys) for a hunt with Frank and the gang out of Mustang Guide Service. We're going to be hunting a couple of his new ranches on 6/9 thru 6/11. I figure the barley should be just right and the pigs all nice and fattened up, looking for some sweet water holes about that time.

Between the JHO Tejon pigoslama hunt, a couple of weddings, and of course, some normally can't-ever-make-up-their-dang-mind-flakey in-laws, I haven't been able to fill this 4th spot yet. I've got one other friend kinda waffling about it (no, not you SDHntr.......you're busy I know), but that doesn't work for me. I'd rather nail this down as I hate for things to linger on and on until they're done. So I thought maybe I'd put up a post here if one of you guys might be interested in joining us for a pig hunt with Frank and Mustang guide service. I have had some great times and experiences with some of you guys out in the field, all I'd ask here is that you are a safe hunter and respectful of others. The rest is easy.........

The cost of the hunt is $450, starts Friday night and we will hunt until Sunday afternoon if necessary. I haven't figured out where we're stayin' yet, but most likely the Motel 6 in King City......Anyway, thought I'd put up this post and if one of you guys might be interested, lemme know and we'll see if we can work it out. I think it's a darn good price for a guided hog hunt, and I've heard from many sources, many times that Frank and his crew are top-notch guides (this is my first guided pig hunt with him). Anywho, email me if you're interested and we'll take it from there........

I live as far south in San Diego as you can without changing nationalities...

Are these ranches North of Tejon, or South of Tejon? If they're north... How many miles/hours above?

Thanks!

This will take place about 2.5-3 hours north of Tejon. It is a 6 hour drive from SD.

I have hunted with Mustang Guide Service , Frank, a few years ago and had a excellent hunt with the hard working guides. Highly recommend Mustang and would go on this hunt if I had that date available.

Good hunting to you folks.

My buddy no can go either.

I hate turkeys. I wish God had never created the darn birds. They have made a fool out of me. See my post in the turkey forum.

Hey Myke,

It's been awhile buddy since weve hunted together. I have my tax money coming back and I'm just waiting on the good ole goobermint to send it. Let me see what I can work out as far as that date is concerned. I would love to go. I've hunted with Frank and Keck many of times and his operation is top notch. If I can get the dates off of work I'll fill your 4th spot. I'll let you know this week. I live in Nevada now so, its a 5 hour drive for me....Hope it works out...

Bryan, it has been a while, and if you can swing this, that's be absolutely great. I'd love to have you join us, and you're at the top of the list to fill the spot now. Let me know and post you decision up here so that anyone else interested will know if you're gunna fill the spot or not. Hope you can swing it, I enjoyed hunting with you too. Take care, Myke

P.S. don't feel bad about the drive, it was a 5 hour drive from your old digs, and a 5 hour drive from my place too.....And better news.......you're getting something BACk from the Feds, I unfortunately had to go the other way.....

Hey Myke,

I checked the Master schedule book at work and it seems that I have training scheduled for the 9th of June. I wish I could go, but I have to be there for this training. I am chomping at the bit to go hog hunting and when I checked into it today it was a huge letdown. Really wished I could of made this one, but its just not in the cards. I'm sure someone will post up that can go. You guys are gonna have a great time. Frank's operation is one of the best in the central california region. Cant wait for the pictures and the story.

Bummer, Bryan.........I enjoyed hunting with you in the past and I'm sure we'll pair up again sometime. Man, you should've been out here to hunt Carrizo again this year. That one place that you and I went (where you busted a covey late, late afternoon) was absolutely INCREDIBLE this year!!! In that one area we found birds everywhere we went, and they were even still calling on the last day of the season. Totally fun bird hunting year like never before. And next fall should be even better due to the number of holdovers, available water, mild winter and plenty of seed.

There's one guy who emailed me who said he'd be interested in going, so I'll give him the good news. Sorry you can't make it, we'll hook up again sometime I hope.
