Kentuck, mind if I claim a spot in the boat? Hopefully it isn't too foggy

There has been an update to the documents and my website to allow all hunters to print out and disply the Check in and Check out slip. you can download the entire pacakge of documents at My Webpage or click the link below. This will allow you to hunt with out going to the visitor centre to obtain the documents.

I'll have to check with my buddy as it was his idea to go and we're not sure whose rig we will be taking. If we take mine you'll be more than welcome. I'm thinking we'll camp in the main campground and launch everyday since I'm not sure I want my rig parked there all weekend. My buddy says he has heard of bad things happening there.

It can be beautiful, sunny, no wind, mid to high 70's... it can also be windy, mid 30's, driving rain and hail, and all-around nasty. The one given is that most mornings the lake will be blanketed in fog until about 9-11am. Basically, you can't predict the weather there from several months out.

See ya there in November!

I remember like it was yesterday, when AS and myself did a little overnight camping at Sonoma! Between the Coons and the creek running through the middle of our tent from the heavy rains, I swore I would never go back! Can't wait for opening day!

I'm keeping an eye here. The 4,5,6 might work for me. Like to meet up for a BBQ or something.
We need a JHO flag to run up for easy ID.
I usually run up a pirate flag on my boat "Wet Willy"

Any help there?

I shizzle you not, last year or the year before I hunted private land just west of Lake Sonoma, about 6 miles out Skaggs Springs road, in December, and guess what? Yep... snow! I've got pictures of us pulling some guy's truck and trailer loaded with quads out of a ditch too... gonna have to hunt those pics up!

FYI, to go along with my new Dodge, my future father-in-law gave me his old fishing boat... it's flat bottom fibergalss, about 12 feet, only got a 6hp motor, but it beats having no boat. Three people probably is overloading (especially if that includes a dead pig), but with two peeps it should still be able to get up on plane and get us to the back of the lake in about a half hour.

I'm tentatively planing for the first weekend of Nov.

Next weekend I'll work on getting it set up... I need PFDs, a paddle or two, a running light or whatever is required to launch before sunrise, strategic cup holders, and I need to get the outboard tested or checked out.

The outboard is a cherry 1966 Mercury Twin... pops told me it ran great 4 years ago, but it's been in storage since then. Anybody know what I'm supposed to do? I'm a novice when it comes to outboards... replace the plugs, and what else?

If you break down just look for the big old ugly tin boat with all the bullet holes in the hull flying a pirate flag. I can hold four guys with gear and hogs and tow anything thanks to my brand new evinrude 135hp OB. just call on channel 11 of your vhf radio. Or channel 5 of your FSR.
