Hello I want to hunt a pig but don't know where the closest place to San Diego is to hunt one. I am just after the meat, don't need a trophy. I know Tejon Ranch has pig hunts. I would prefer a rifle but can shoot archery. I would rather have a high success rate and can drive up the state if best. Can't really spend a lot of money.
I noticed another thread on here about Lake Sonoma. I actually grew up there. I had a friend who used to hunt pigs on his land at the lake with a knife and a couple of dogs. He was kind of crazy. Anyway, my parents still live there so that would be cheap for me. I could have others stay at their house too I am sure in Healdsburg.
Anyway, I noticed an article in the paper the other day about pigs on a local Indian reservation getting off their land. Is that an option? I think the success rate on public land in SoCal is low, is that right?
This is about all I know. My parents used to get pig ever year from the neighbor but I would rather get it myself. On the cheap is best for me.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
