NO CANCELATIONS ON MY PART. ATTEMPTED TO REBOOK ON SHORT NOTICE!
I tried to rebook, but, their schedules, wouldn't allow for that. Please don't try to destroy my name. I made every effort to rebook them on such stupid short notice. When I am called at 10:30 am. the day before a hunt and told what to do by my land owner, I am not in control as I am not the one who owns the land. I have to follow said persons orders.
I am the one who comes away looking like a Jackass.
I was apologetic and very accomadating in trying to rebook them with the dates that I have available. I know that they are the only persons that have been canceled due to the fact that there are issues on the ranch with the cattle and I needed to move some dates around. They are school teachers and won't be able to come on said dates.
THEIR REFUND MONEY WAS IN THE MAIL WITHIN THE HOUR!
So, let's be perfectly honest if we are going to try to defame a persons character.
I bend over backwards to make sure that my clients are taken care of in every way. I have extended hunts as much as 5 extra days for people who can't hit an animal, all at my own expense, to make sure that these people go home with game. I do things for my clients that NOBODY in the hunting industry would ever think of doing.
There was a conflict this weekend with encroachers and my guys suffered. They are unable to come up for a make up hunt so they are receiving partial refunds.
So to say that, or imply that, I do people wrong, is absolute bull#%&*. The hunts are still on track. I had 2 dates that had to be moved.
Tell me this. When life happens and the clients have to rebook due to life happening, life is all fine and dandy? But......
I am sorry that there are hurt feelings. But, the God's honest truth is I tried to rebook them, they're not in a position to rebook.

Tom, Please this is no attempt to destroy your rep. I understand your predicament. I would much rather re-shcedule than cancel, as would all of my party. I however know that many of my group had only the weekend originally scheduled available.
Since I understand the deal was for four persons, I was hoping to dig up a few extra that may be able to fill the four person deal.

Sounds like you did all you can do. As a hunter you have to understand these things happen. Hope everything works out well for you! I didn't read switches comments as comming down on you personally. You did the right thing.

I misread the post from switch. I was blown way up in the skirt department at my landowner, not switch, when I read the wrong context into his post.
The fault is mine and mine exclusively. Switch meant me absolutely no harm what so ever. I was a bit of a pee pee head and I do apologize to Switch and to you all.

I realize that you make your living in part by guiding and take your reputation very seriously, but you need to take a breath and settle down.
Nothing in switch's original post was as you implied. He wasn't trying to destroy your name nor defame your character.
Re-read his post a second time and you may likely see things more clearly.

Yup.. PG apologised... not only that but he admitted he was wrong AND called himself a 'pee pee head'
If you look, PG's apology and Riflemans comment are 3 mins apart.
Could it possibly be that Rifleman was writing his comment whilst PG's apology was being posted and that he just didnt see the apology??

Yup, it was just a missed timing......no harm intended by Rifleman or by Pig Guide.

Rifleman and I posted within minutes, however, I took a break to answer some phone call while I was posting. It would have been sooner.

Just an update.
Even though we had an early post miscommunication it should be known that Tom has bent over backwards to supply me and my group with alternate dates for our missed hunt.
Even though I have never met him, our communications via cell phone and email, and to some extent this forum, I can say that he is an upstanding individual with a strong integrity to do the right thing. These qualities are paramount for a business man and Tom has them hands down. He has worked with me at every step trying to make this work.
We are still working out the dates and Tom has no idea I'm posting this. It may work out or it may not, but I can tell you this, if I'm ever up in Bakersfield looking for a hunt, Hands down, I'm booking with Tom. Not because of the service he provides (I haven't experienced it yet) but because he's a man of his word.
There will always be more pigs...good guides are very hard to find!
