So far a lot of sign flushed two in the brush in 25 and ran 3 more in the ridge line. Brother got into the draw zone but saw squat and is moving to 25. Having fun though.

Hunted this morning and saw pigs in that special draw zone but did not draw a hunt. Hunted another area and saw 4 pig and as I was waiting for the pigs to come down into the area I was waiting on ridge other hunter came and blocked and push the pigs back into into the closed zone.

1 pig taken this morning out of 10 ppl kind of waste. when I saw 15 in the area that same morning. 1 Pig taken out of 13w and its was a whopper 190 lbs or so.

Wow that is a big pig. My brother worked that area hard but no dice. Hoping for more action now that it is cooling down.

I was one of the ones who hunted FHL in the past, but the BS and time lag got to be too much. The pipper was when they closed the base after I bought the annual pass and got my deer tag.
Oh, well it still is geat place if you are prepared...

Just wanted to give an update to my hunt. Had a great time and will be back during deer season. Beautiful country out there. We met some great people who helped us out as novice pig hunters busting brush and working the ridge line. It was a very active hunt. I enjoyed it. Didnt have time for many pictures though. We got into the 22 area on Sunday. Couldnt find the large heard that was moving in the area but spotted a few pigs outside of shotgun range the wind busted us. We set in at sun down and had a very nice red boar came around some bushes near my brothers hide. He caught a glimps of its rear and it circled around and was making its way towards the others in out party. It was the lead pig 120m out! Then a vehicle doing 40 cruises by on the road spooks the boar and the rest of the herd. That was that. All and all a great weekend. Thanks to everyone who helped us.

I can't believe there was 60 hunters applying for the special zones. Not much story behind this one except being in the right place at the right time after several locked gates. 190 lb was tough since I'm only 160 lb.

MWR took over and now you have to buy an annual permit (retiree $60) to even APPLY for an elk tag. Regardless if you'll hunt there or not, if your not drawn.
So...I applied for the elk draw at FHL. It seemed to go through and I didn't see anything about needing a permit in order to apply. Does this mean I wasted my money? Is there a website that states this? I didn't see it on the DFG site.

I heard some others managed to apply there at the window. There was two guys working. One was pretty cool the other seemed like he hated his job.

I just applied when I got all my other tags and stuff at the local sporting goods store. So if it went through, then I'm in the drawing?
