I am completing my first camera with RS-232 and Olympus D-360L. I couldn't get a four C cell battery holder so I used 2x2 holders and wired both. When I plug everything in and turn on the green PIR LED light blinks continuous. The Q/A says that this indicates low battery but they are new. Any help?

How do you have the 2 holders wired? In parallel or in series? If in parallel, you'll only get the voltage equivalent to (2) of the batteries. The need to be added in series to get the cumulative voltage of all four batteries.
To wire the two holders in series, use the positive lead from one holder and attach to the negative lead of the other holder. This will leave you with the postive lead on one holder and the negative lead on the other holder to attach to the black and red wires of the Pixcontroller board's power leads.

So, where would a switch go in there? I'm thinking the red wire coming from batteries on one end of the switch and the red wire going to board on the other end of the switch. Black wire from batteries to the black wire board. I tried it this way and batteries got really hot. Ruh Roh!
just like ocmu said.Then run the single red wire to a switch and from the other terminal on that switch run a piece of wire,red preferably, up to the positive battery connection from the pixcontroller board connection.Black battery lead will go right to negative power connection point on pixcontroller board.As for hot batteries ya got something wrong.If you have a meter check power at your red and black wires from battery holder .If 4 c's alkaline should 6 volts or little more or less.
I made a picture up to show the wiring of the battery holders when you need 6 volts and using two C-cell holder that only hold two batteries each. All I had was 4 cell holders on hand so I covered two of the cell up so it would show as two cells in each. Wire the Red from one holder to the Black of the other holder together as shown. Connect the loose Red wire to the spst switch and the loose Black to the board Black wire.
