This was several years ago.

Here's one of the hogs I have taken with a handgun.I used a Taurus .357 topped with a Simmons 4X scope.
He came thrashing through the brush at a moderate speed.
I threw up and rested against a small tree and waited for him to appear in the view of my scope. He was runnin quartering away from me at about 30 yards.
As he entered the glass I let one fly hitting him right in the sweet spot behind the shoulder! The bullet never exited as it was lodged in the heavy plate of his off shoulder. He lay only another 35 yards or so from impact! What a thrill!

Nice shootin..........here's a cute little guy I took last year at 25 yards. Head shot (he was munchin on some barley), .357 open sights. Approx. wt. 250-270 lbs. Dropped like a rock.

Nope....just carry one to do a coup-de-gras when needed. The only reason I didn't take this one with my M70 30-06 is because I got so close to him, had a good rest, and he was standing tall in the barley, pretty still, just munchin the tops. And I said, what the heck, so I took a head shot on a lark.

Pretty lucky shot, eh? 2002 for whatever reason was a good shootin year for me (finally). It got even better a couple months later.....two boars, both about 160 lbs., were feeding together, walking parallel, one a little ahead of the other. I walked up behind and to their side, got a good rest about 50 yards away, then put the crosshairs of my rifle on the head of the leading boar. Just as the trigger was letting the sear go (you know, that little feeling in the trigger when all you have to do is breathe on it to set it off), the other boar takes two quick hops forward. BOOM, off goes the rifle, down go two pigs. Even my mouth dropped open on that one.
