Hello,

Can anyone tell me where some really good hotspots are in the Los Padres/ Carizzo Plains area to hunt pig? I hear that caliente mountain is good, whereabouts in that area are there some good spots? Also, does anyone know some good areas around there that are adjacent to private ranches? I'm going to be scouting the area this weekend.

Thank you!

I know of a hot spot at Hollister BLM public lands, they at one time mined asbestos there. Scout on the outskirts of Laguna Ranch, I never hunted there but some of my friends have with some success.
They said that barely fields are planted on these hunting ranches. You may already know that pigs and hard to get on public land. You need to be at the right place at the right time and do your homework, (seems like you're doing that).

South of Big Sir in the Los Padres Forest is a good area for pigs too. Stay off private property unless you have permission.
