The only saving grace is that pigs aren't as cute as cougars or bears. This might have a chance.

To much money to be lost if FG agrees to this.

Sorry but if the pigs were really that big of a problem we would all have photos of our grand hunts posted. Someone with money is backing this for personal gain. The pigs are just as hard to find in San Diego as they are in any other part of California. Yes night hunts would be fun or even different but not because the pig problem is soooooooo bad public safety and environmental concerns demand it. Hunters too need to be responsible. Hunt for the right reason in the right manner even when it is legal to do otherwise. We are not supposed to be killers, hunters have some ethics.

just a waste of taxpayer money. The feds will never sign off on night hunting as they rather get the income from the pig tags. I say let them be, we deserve something else to hunt

California is the only state that requires a tag to hunt these ugly things. To me they should be treated as rats and be killed by any means necessary. They are competing with deer for food, destroying our land and posoining our water system. Stop the madness now and lets get rid of these pests.

They should pay us to shoot these things instead of requiring us to buy a tag. Filthy damn animals!

baco, feds don't have anything to do with this. DFG isn't, in these days of no money, going NOT going to give up $1.2 M a year because San Diego sat on its hands for five years.

If the county wants to control the population they should send out trepass waivers to all the land owners with their tax bill. Maybe even give them some credit on taxes.
We could win trespass waivers to hunt down the population. Win-win.

They whine about how bad it is, But yet they lock access gates and close off portions of the forest to everyone. Let folks use ATV's on trails for better access, It would control the problem much better. If they are worried about people going crazy with atv's. limit it to 4x4 styles.

My point exactly. Now lets point this matter to the land owners who charges hundreds of dollars and more just to hunt them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree most hogs now are on private property and many outfitters charge big bucks to hunt hog on there land so DFG doesnt make as much money as they would by passing these laws. We need to think about conservation not extermanation. Just give us more public land to hunt and maybe add some better pig habitas on existing public land. so it really dont matter how much they charge for tags if we cant hunt them on public land.

I like the idea of better habitats. Feed the hogs back to public land and we can take care of them. Pest or not hunt them like responsible hunters. Then the public can see we are not a bunch of hillbillies tearing up the forest killing everything in site.

Also THe idea of sending waivers to the taxpayers making more land accessible sounds interesting. Anyone know where and when that has worked before? Even if it did not work maybe we could tweek it some to make it work.

what needs to happen is allow baiting and night hunting "archery olny". then they'll put a good smack on them.
