Please, no more posting of boomsplat and his hog guide service.

He hasn't been square with this forum from his 1st email to me about just wanting to post he was looking for work as a guide. His posts turned from from a job wanted ad to free hunts, to paid hunts which he never had permission to do. He has back doored the rules here by getting other members to post his ads for him while we checked on his stories.

Any and all refrences to this operation will be removed since he has already gotten his 6 weeks of free advertising here.

If you really think this is a good deal just remember boomsplat denied he was starting a guiding service to me at least 3 times. The hunts started as free and now are $150.00. Prime pig season is a month away and you can bet the guide fees are going to rise since we all know what a guided hog hunt costs. No, no matter what anyone tells you, there is no tooth fairy. If it sounds to good to be true.......

You can also guess why he wanted the pics removed of one of their hunts. His reason to me was he was getting to many requests to go hunting. Ha!! This from a guy who posted in a public forum that he was offering free hog hunts.

I wish this would have worked out since some of you were able to get your 1st hog or were able to take a hog on a good deal but that was the bait we got sucked in with. From the 1st post here many of us had reservations but we held our tongues.

This website nor I DO NOT endorse this hog hunting operation in any way.

Good call Jesse. Thank you calling a spade a spade and deleting that dudes posts. BTW, I heard that his hunts are $150 PER DAY, not per weekend hunt....no great deal there.

Folks with hidden agendas or deliberately using these kind of "bait and switch" tactics on the excellent guys and gals on this forum are to me, no less than scoundrels. I recall that fella just recently telling people that it's no fun to hunt alone and he was looking for a few hunting partners. Yeah right..........what a crock that turned out to be.

What's that old saying, "if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is".......

Hopefully nobody on your forum will pay him another dime........there are plenty of outstanding and totally up front guides out there, that's for sure. Thanks for catching that and not letting it perpetuate.

I knew there was something stinky about that guy.
I wonder if the place he has access to knows he's starting to make money off of bringing "friends"?

I agree.....I smelled something fishy when I first read his post. On the flip side of the coin I thought he might be just a nice guy that wanted to help first time hog hunter be successfull. I know when I spoke with him via phone, he told me that he WAS NOT interested in opening a guide service or charging for hog hunts. He simply loved hunting and wanted to take someone who has been trying to get thee first hog and has been unsuccessfull. I thought it was kinda funny about a week later he changed his mind about charging. Thanx for looking out for us Jesse, way to many scams out there....

I just found this on another site. Looks like he is making his rounds. He also has a completely different pricing structure than what he has told folks on this site, myself included. I smelled a rat at first, then changed my mind after speaking with him. He seemed like a nice guy who loved to hunt and wanted to help some guys out. Then the next contact he wanted to charge me. I should have trusted my first instinct. Jesse feel free to delete this link, but I just wanted people to see that we are not alone.

I hate to say it but I have to join the fray here. I've spoken to him twice, in fact the last ime he called me inviting me up the following week. That phone call was followed a day later by an email advising me about his guide service and wanting money, etc.

Why would I drive 300 miles up north to pay 150 a day to hunt hog, when I can drive 20 min. to pay to hunt @ Tejon. Oh well, you never know. Like my Dad used to say if it's too good to be true . . .

It is to bad that people will take advantage of others like boomsplat has chosen to do. This is why people think that anyone trying to help them out have other motives.

I saw your post and was wondering myself but I figured I would give the guy the benefit of the doubt. I am glad that someone asked enough questions to catch this guy.

I won't be supporting his guide service ever. I have made a lot of good friends at JHO and I hate to see anyone take advantage of JHO.

Could it be that this kid started out just wanting to find a few hunting buddies, and THEN realized that he could make a living at it? Maybe he just didn't make the transition properly? I don't know. Just wondering. I'm a sucker, always looking for the good in somebody or something.

I know that everytime I go hog huntin', I dream about doing it for a living.

Ah, One track, you sound like I do sometimes, trying to stay optimistic, give folks the benefit of the doubt. That says a lot about you.....

I think, though, on this one, if you'd go back and re-read Jesse's post, and his tone, you might get a better feel for what sounds like really went on here. I won't say what I really think, as I don't want to dirty up this thread, get the forum in any kinda slander deal or spend any more time on this sad deal. Suffice it to say that I think Jesse knew a little more about the whole deal than we did and had good reason to put an end to it.

Freedivr2,

Maybe I'm thinking of somebody else, but didn't you get a free hog hunt out of all this? If true, I'm not sure I'd be leading the charge here if it were me.

Jesse..........Thanks for the post. Sorry to say I was sucked in to, almost. Boomsplat offered me a hunt but things never worked out. The last offer he made, too many red flags were coming up; name on email didn't match, wouldn't give a phone #, said I could shoot only if the pig was less than 250lbs otherwise he or his buddy would shoot, wanted me to come alone but 3 of his buddies were going, we could only take his truck, plus I would have to pay $20 for gas and so on. And you know about the posts. Told me he had a guide lic. but wouldn't reveal it to me. I also offered to meet and introduce myself prior to going. You know just to put a face with a name. He wouldn't do it ! DAMN HIM !! You're all right , " Too good to be true". BURNED..........................Erich.

If boomsplat was on the up and up and just decided to start guiding becasue he thought he could make a living. I think the only right thing to do would be to pay Jesse for the advertising that he got here for free. I am sure if he was truly honest and he tried to make it rght with Jesse no more would be said.

I like to give folks the benefit of the doubt as well. He could have bought a lot of advertisement for the $ that he missed out on with all the free guides he gave to the JHO members. Its too bad things didn't go right. JHO could have gained a good sponsor and Boom could have started a good business.

Jesse made a good call on this one.

1. August 10th, Boomsplat posts that he is a out of work pig guide looking for work. Posted his phone number and email address. He was advised of the advertising policy.

2. September 3rd, Boomsplat posts that he is "looking for someboby to take pig hunting free". And several members try to get in touch with him and get the run around.

3. After one member posts pictures from the hunt he was taken on by Boomsplat, he contacts Jesse to have pictures removed because Boomsplat is worried that somebody will recognise the ranch.

4. Boomsplat then has his free customers post that "Boomsplat is now guiding for a fee".

5. Boomsplat has been nothing but deceiving in the way he has dealt with this forum, it's owner, and it's members.

DKScott,
In defense of Freedivr2, he DID NOT hunt with this guy. You must have him confused with someone else.
