Please share your nonlead small game rifle and ammo combos

California hunters,

I'm shopping for a "learn to shoot again" and small game rifle right now. In years past, this would have been a bolt-action .22LR. Word seems to be that nonlead .22LR has (a) uneven availability and (b) poor accuracy past 25-50 yards (depends on who you ask).

What rifle (and nonlead ammo!) are any of you using, and how's it working out?

Lots of places have Cci copper stuff for sale, I have a savage .22lr bolt and it groups well at 50, and only patterns at 100yd.
