Frank Hooks runs wild hog hunts near Parkfield CA in the central coast. The ranch was closed for a year and the pigs are everywhere Frank said. They've been open for 4 months now and run hunters through every couple weeks. The ranch has barley and other food plots. Give Frank a call if you're looking for a hog hunt.

That's pretty high for pig hunting. Most areas I've looked at have come down a lot in recent years to $500-600 for a guaranteed shot. If you can get it, then more power to you. I'm sure it's a great place, but $1000...Wow. Out of curiosity, what is considered trophy? Some places classify it by the length of teeth while some by the weight of the pig, and some don't say until after the pig is shot then most times it's a trophy. LOL.

Yes, indeed! I'd want to make we had agreed whether it was a trophy or not before I shot it. I sure do love the Parkfield area, though. For many years, we leased hunting rights on a ranch on Turkey Flat Road owned by Bub and Ruth Taylor. I sure wish we still did.

As one member pointed out on another thread, some folks here would bitch about being hung with a new rope.

And some of them just wish they were hung. Oh! Welcome Jack Ranch, Hunted the ranch awhile back and had good hunt. I remember the midday temp was 109 deg. Saw plenty of pigs early and late in the day.
