Yah, that sucks...Maybe people wouldn't poach animals if they would receive a stiffer sentence...60 days and a thousand dollar fine is a joke for such a huge beast...They said some people will pay $20,000 for a trophy such as this one, so no wonder some idiot trys to poach him when he is only going to get slapped with a $1,000 fine...what a joke

This could only happen in California.
What a majestic beast.
The fine should be equal to the sportsmans value for a trophy bull of that caliber My untrained eye says that was at least a 180 bc. call it 12,000.00 value.
Plus a REASONABLE fine for having commited the illegal act. another 5,000.00
Plus an equivelant fine for the officers involvement and investigation and court hearings. at least 3,000.00 heck maybe 6,000.00 yeah lets call it 6,000.00
If He was unable to pay the fine ( 23,000.00) I believe jail time is traded off at 3 or 4 dollars per day.

I vote:
Cut off his trigger finger with a dull kitchen knife and no first aid.
