Power for stealth cam question

My boss bought one of the cheap stealth cams last year. The $70 one. He says it takes 8 AA batteries. Does anyone know if the thing runs off of 12v or are these two seperate 6v power for say the sensor and the camera. He is not happy with the battery life and was going to rig a differnet type battery but can't tell exactly how the thing is powered. I thought maybe some of you might know. Thanks

I don't understand why people have batt life problems. I have had mine out for over 3 weeks several different times now and it has never been dead yet.

I use the Rayovac cheap batteries in it.

same here, i have 3 of those and i use the cheapest batteries avaliable. usually raoviac (sP?) and they will last me about 3 or 4 weeks. might be the temp.?
