Found one last weekend, but didn't take any ATL's....found it in the ditch of a main gravel road where a deer trail crossed the road into a field...the shed was nearly on the shoulder, and had been there a few days at least...I almost couldn't believe it!
Went out yesterday to one of my mulie spots, and managed my first mulie shed of the year.
Went out again today, and found this one 15 minutes in!
Great ATL with that mulie shed, and that tines down find was a great spot...I bet your eye's popped when you uncovered that one. Congrats on the finds! Great job on your shed video too, I just watched it yesterday and it's one hell of a great production.
I had walked past this shed the week before...it was burried...we had some wind that blew off a bit of the top loose snow, and exposed this one just enough to see the beam.
I got the recorvery on video and although I knew it was a good one...I pulled it out of the snow real slow, and the tines just kept on comming!
I'm heading back there tommorrow...we've had a bit of melting the last few days, so hopefully a few more antler pieces are visible.
Thanks for the video orders so far, I glad everone likes it. I still have lots left, so if anyone know someone who might enjoy it pass it along!
I haven't got my video yet,the way my season is going so far I'm almost affraid to watch it yet.I will be getting one though so make sure you set one aside for me.
My wife has been doing some deer research this winter in some pretty nice deer country. She called me up and said she got permission for us to go shed hunting, so I headed out to spend the day with her and her uncle.
Her uncle farms in that area, and although he has found sheds before while farming, he's never actually been out specifically looking...this was his first official shed hunting trip, and he was the first one to find a shed that day...a nice 5 point whitetail...Nicole found the match to it a couple seconds later.
All in all it was a great day! Nicole found 4 and her uncle found 3...and me well....first time I got skunked this year!.....so nothing to add to the totals.
Nicole's uncle also gave us a nice Mulie shed he found a couple years ago.
Great pics Pred! I was wondering how long it was untill you quit shed hunting for the year?? Man that country is wide OPEN! I can see how the binocs help now!!
I actually put in 2 moe hours of searching after nicole and her uncle called it quits...I was deturmined not to get skunked, but I guess it just wasn't my day to find one.
Finally some serious melt happening here...I'm amazed at how much snow has gone in the last few days...looking forward to getting back to my old faithfull spots this weekend.
Wow it looks as though the three of you had a great day even though you got skunked. I'm glad to hear you are getting the snowmelt there too, I'm finally seeing some bare ground here around home in Wisconsin. Best of luck to ya this weekend.
It looks like you still have quite a bit of snow to contend with. I'm sure things will pick up for you as the snow melts down some more. Nice find though....one shed is better than none. Best of luck with your upcoming searches
