re:

I was getting a Christmas tree from the christmas tree farm/pumpkin patch in live oak canyon here in Yucaipa, and had the opportunity to meet the owner. He told me they had lots of pigs coming in and eating pumpkins, and I didn't think of it at the time, but maybe he would want someone to come in and help out. He has a ton of land in there.

riverbottm pigs

For those seeking proof that they are there. You should go by the ranger station in the morning and see if the field in front of the station is tore-up. I counted 14 porker in that field. I sure wish i would have had a camera with me.

riverbottom pigs

Well i went out pig hunting last night with the camera. I guess my eye sight is as bad as a pig's because i put a stalk on a bush.:rotflmao: But i did see a pair in one group and a party of 4. I'm still not able to get close enough to photograph them. Well if we get some rain next weekend i try again.

You have seen them in Yucaipa? Where roughly? Don't want your honey hole, just curious if they're spreading. I can't wait for them to get out of the damn private property. I've been watching them and just waiting for a legal opportunity. Its driving me nuts. Of course if you ask the folks in Texas, hogs are the worst plague to any area.

Phatdog if you go there after 10PM you will find them in the fields. If you want some fun, get down on your hands and knees, then try to crawl amoung them.

I agree with the frustration of not being able to shoot hogs near your home. When I lived in South San Jose near Bernal and Santa Teresa, I was (and still am) an avid mountain biker in addition to hunting. I often jumped pigs on the trails I regularly rode and heard and saw more pig sign than I could have ever wanted, except that is definitely a no-shoot zone. Highly frustrating times that made me wish I lived in the same area 75 years ago when you could shoot practically anywhere, so long as you weren't being dangerous.
