Not really much to tell. Drove around and jumped a couple followed them for about a mile and then they stopped in a nice green river bed and the hairy, stinkeys just squared up to me brandishing my weatherby .308. That was a very dumb move to make. :)

There are lots of pigs in Osos......but unless you were raised around here like myself you have little to no chance of ever knowing it.

This was not a Pozo pig. All of the terrain in and around Pozo is extremely rugged, steep, and extremely thick vegetation that is painful and hard to navigate.

cool. thanks for the heads up. My good friend is from there. His family still has lots of friends in the area. I never even thought to ask him to look into it for me. There used to be only one store in that town. It was a video store and a market. My good buddy's family owned that shop for many years and he grew up there. Not many if any locals that don't know them.

Congrats again on the hog. I hope to get my first one soon.
Take care.

Not to burst your bubble but Osos dates back to the 1700's. Indians inhabited Osos with artifacts dating back prior to 1300 a.d.

In the the 40's US troops used the sand spit in Osos to practice for the invasion of Normandy. There where lots of soldiers here and stores. Stores that predate the first "VHS tape" by almost 40 years.

Your friends may have deep roots here but I would bet against them owning the first/only store in Osos. Just sayin.

my bad bro. I didn't mean it was the only store there ever or that more have not come since they sold out. If you have been there for ever than you would remember there being one small market and video shop owned by a Korean family. That's the shop I was talking about. I for get the name. Bay market or something. My buddy used to work there for his mom and dad. He went to school at AG high. I was thinking any local like yourself would recall renting videos or buying stuff at there shop. No stress though. Hope all is well over there and with you. Congrats again on your hog.

Sorry for any mix up and no bubble to burst. Just a small mistake on words I guess.

You may be referring to the "Baywood Market" that my buddy has owned for several years now. Perhaps they purchased it from your friends. The video store I remember going to was in Baywood also just down the street from the "Baywood Market". Hollywood video moved in and put the local video store out of business. Then Hollywood video went out of business here.

If your friends are in AG there is some really really really really awesome spots to hunt pigs out there if you are blood related friends or relatives. Lots of swine problems there :)

In fact one of the bombest ranches I know out there is the owners of In-N-Out. Holy sweet mother load of game. They have acres and acres. Locals use to be able to hunt it......but it only took a few "dip tards" to mess that one up. I dont know if any guides are contracted to use there land but holy hell if there was, that would be one heck of a place to go for any game animal.

Above all else if money where not an issue Id hunt Hearst Land all day long. :)

yes baywood is the store they owned. Your friend would tell you that they sold it and moved away, so they no longer live in Osos. They didn't live in AG. That is just were my buddy wet to school to play football.

Nice video about Hearst. I had seen that and many others over the years. Its always cool to watch them again. I love going to the ranch and used to fish out of the pier in San Simeon. I have never heard that people can hunt the ranch for any price. I know that anyone can pay to hunt the other land (Jack Ranch), but never knew of hunts at the main property.

How long have you been over there and were did you go to school? We may know a few of the same folks. My buddy and I finished school in 95. I went to Bishop Diego in Santa Barbara.

Hw805, i was born and raised in atascadero. I move away about four years ago and really miss it. Youre a lucky dude to find public land pigs, i know of two places that occasionally have pigs but its rough in that county. Almost all the pigs are on private. Keep hammering bud.

I was actually just there this weekend hunting my public land spot for turkey and pigs. Missed a walking bird at about thirty five yards and saw quite a few pig tracks.

Ya bud that sounds good, i'll beat some brush down.
