In my opinion a Quadtone processing is much better than a plain B&W. The following is a step by step tutorial on doing one.

Step 1
open an image in your software (this should work in all adobe software, photoshop 7.0, CS2,etc)

click on the IMAGE tab at the top
then click on MODE
now click on GRAYSCALE

Step2
A window will open like this, click on OK

Step 3
now move your cursor to IMAGE at the top again and click on DUOTONE change this to QUADTONE in the dropdown box, and click LOAD The first time you do this a window will open with options, doubleclick on Bl 541 513 5773, click ok.

you should now have a window that looks like this click OK

Step 5

This step is very improtant, if you dont do this you will not be able to save the file as a jpg. go to the IMAGE tab and mode, then click on RGB COLOR Then file, save as...

I hope I havent made this confusing. Any questons just ask.

I guess it's all in how much you adjust the curves, I like both versions of the brige in your other post's... I'm going to have to dig up an image and give it a try.

I did no adjustments with curves, all I ever use now Paul is levels in processing prior to even setting to mono. I imagine you could, but have found that levels actually does a far better adjustment than curves. DIg one up and have at it.
